SLEEPLESS (Hulu, New!) - Mike Cahill (Another Earth) is set to write and direct a small screen take on Kenneth Calhoun's novel "Black Moon," about "the outbreak of an insomnia epidemic, with the story told intimately through the eyes of an ensemble of complicated characters." (Deadline.com)

UNDER HER THUMB (NBC, New!) - Alison McDonald ("Red Band Society") has snagged a put pilot commitment from the Peacock for a new drama billed as "a campy cautionary tale set in the morally bankrupt world of high-end New York City real estate." Universal Television-based Will Packer Productions is behind the hour with McDonald and Packer executive producing and Korin D. Huggins serving as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)

UNTITLED JOANNA COLES PROJECT (NBC, New!) - A fictional series inspired by Joanna Coles, the editor Cosmopolitan magazine, is current being developed at the Peacock. Sarah Watson ("Parenthood") is spearheading the Universal Television-based project, which has a penalty attached, about "the lives - and love lives - of the staff responsible for the number one women's magazine in the world." The Distract's Ruben Fleischer and David Bernad will also serve as executive producers alongside Coles and Watson with Holly Whidden as a co-producer. (Variety.com)
