AHC's Original Series "AMERICA: FACTS VS. FICTION" Returns with Host Jamie Kaler

This October, AHC's original series AMERICA: FACTS VS. FICTION embarks on all-new adventures uncovering surprising hidden facts behind American history, filling in the blanks, debunking the occasional myth and exploring why we sometimes get our own history wrong. Hosted by former Naval Officer and actor/comedian Jamie Kaler, the series exposes unknown details of the nation's most familiar and beloved stories, revealing that America is far more remarkable that we ever knew. Season three kicks off with back-to-back episodes on Tuesday, October 6 at 10pm ET and 10:30pm ET and premieres regularly on Tuesdays at 10pm ET beginning Tuesday, October 13 only on AHC.

In the premiere episode, airing Tuesday, October 6 at 10pm ET, Kaler reveals the captivating truth behind Dwight D. Eisenhower's climb to the U.S. presidency as well as one of the best-kept secrets of army general Douglas MacArthur during World War II.

Then at 10:30pm ET, discover the truth behind one of America's most fanatical past times - amusement parks and their most famous rides, roller coasters. Then explore the truth behind those sparkling spectacles known as world's fairs, where the most innovative products were revealed - one of which could have even saved a U.S. president from his death bed.

Additional Premieres Include:

"Welcome to the Big Apple" Premieres Tuesday, October 13 at 10pm ET Myths cloud over the facts about Manhattan's famous landmarks: the Empire State Building and Grand Central. Discover why a penny tossed from the top of the skyscraper won't kill anyone, and the real story of Grand Central's "secret" train platform.

"The Princess and the Pathfinders" Premieres Tuesday, October 20 at 10pm ET The true stories behind Pocahontas and renowned explorer's Lewis and Clark are different than how we remember them. Find out why Lewis and Clark's exploits were forgotten for more than a century, and how John Smith and Pocahontas' love story was fabricated.

"Kings of the Sky" Premieres Tuesday, October 27 at 10pm ET The startling truths of two pioneering flights are widely unknown. Learn how Charles Lindbergh was far from the first man to fly the Atlantic, and the biggest danger astronaut John Glenn faced was actually on the launch pad.

About Jamie Kaler

An accomplished actor, writer, and stand-up comic, Jamie still can't believe he actually gets paid to make people laugh. In his younger years, not thinking acting could be an actual profession, he chose the next best path...Naval Officer. Jamie received a four year NROTC scholarship for college and decided to use it at the most expensive school he could get into - Boston University.

With his commission from the U.S. Navy in hand, Jamie set off on his first "World Tour" in ports like Hong Kong, Perth, and Bangkok. Realizing he enjoyed Kelly McGillis and a "need for speed" a little bit more than actually being in the Navy, he resigned his commission as a Lieutenant and decided to try acting.

Jamie Kaler is best known as Mike Callahan on the critically acclaimed TBS comedy, "My Boys." He has been headlining comedy clubs and theatres nationwide this past summer in support of the show's fourth season. These days you can catch Jamie on his weekly radio show "Kaler" for Sirius XM on the Blue Collar Radio channel.
