BRAVO MEDIA'S EMMY-WINNING "INSIDE THE ACTORS STUDIO" WELCOMES CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED ACTRESS & COMEDIAN SARAH SILVERMAN ON THURS, OCT 22nd AT 8PM ET/PT

NEW YORK - October 14, 2015 -Bravo Media's Emmy-winning "Inside the Actors Studio," hosted by James Lipton, presents a laugh-out-loud episode with iconic stand-up comedian Sarah Silverman on Thursday, October 22 at 8pm ET/PT. Host James Lipton sits down with the two-time Emmy-winning performer in anticipation of her leading role in the upcoming film, "I Smile Back," which hits theaters October 23rd. Silverman was nominated for a Primetime Emmy in the Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series category in 2009 for Comedy Central's "The Sarah Silverman Program." In 2013, Silverman debuted an hour-long stand-up HBO special, "We are Miracles," which earned her a 2014 Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special.

"It is no surprise that Sarah Silverman is a phenomenon who holds nothing back," said James Lipton. "On our 'Inside the Actors Studio' stage, she not only lived up to that reputation, but surpassed it, revealing hilariously and touchingly the secrets behind the tantalizing secrets of her life and work."

With a versatile career including film, television, stand-up comedy and more, Silverman takes the audience from her childhood to the established success she endures today. She discusses her struggle with depression as an adolescent, as well as what drove her to entertaining others through humor at an early age. The actress also delves into her New York Times best-selling memoir "The Bedwetter: Stories of Courage, Redemption, and Pee," and why such a serious setback in her teenage years ultimately defined her future as an effective performer. Additionally, viewers learn of Silverman's experience as a female pioneer on the comedy scene and why she decided to expand her ever-growing repertoire starring in the intense drama feature, "I Smile Back."

QUOTABLES FROM THE EPISODE:

"I wish that she saw me on [Inside the Actors Studio]. This is - she would have just died... again. (Laughs). She would have just died. I mean, I can't even believe it." - Silverman on her late mother

"I don't think it's a brand new conceit that comedy and drama share a wall, you know? They're adjacent, at least. And I think there's a lot of darkness comedians carry - [they] often come from darkness. It's a darkness from an early age that, usually, they need to become funny to persevere through." - Silverman on the relationship between comedians and drama

"... he had a 'Jewfro' which he grew, I guess, 'cause it was winter... and I was just daydreaming and looking at his hair. And in my mind, I visualized stabbing my pencil through his hair, but what happened, and what everybody saw happen, was I stabbed him in the temple. I stabbed him square in the temple." - Silverman on stabbing Al Franken in the Saturday Night Live writers' room
