BLACK STILETTO (ABC, New!) - Javier Grillo-Marxuach ("The 100") is looking to bring Raymond Benson's series of novels - about "a young woman's evolution into a modern-day hero when a family secret from the past is revealed and puts the only family she's ever known in imminent danger" - to the small screen at the Alphabet. Orchard Farm Productions' Mila Kunis, Cami Curtis, Susan Curtis, and Lisa Sterbakov are also on board to executive produce, as are Tony Eldridge and Nancy Moonves, for ABC Studios. (Deadline.com)
HUSTLE, THE (ABC, New!) - Writer Stacey Harman, producer Sean Combs and director Jeremy Garelick are set to team for a new single-camera comedy about "a small-town girl who lands a job working as an assistant to a street-educated billionaire business mogul where she is instantly thrown into a foreign world of extravagance, debauchery and adventure." Said effort, which has a penalty attached, is based on the life of Combs's assistant Sarah Snedeker, who will receive a producing credit and serve as a consultant. No studio was indicated. (Deadline.com)
MY BEST FRIEND'S WEDDING (ABC, New!) - Ron Bass is looking to bring his 1997 Julia Roberts-led feature to the small screen as a single-camera comedy. Said effort, which has a script commitment plus a penalty attached, "picks up where the movie left off and centers on Julianne Potter (originally played by Roberts) navigating her life in New York City, with best friend George (played by Rupert Everett in the movie) as her guide." Bass and Jessica Amento will co-write the script and executive produce alongside Jerry Zucker, Janet Zucker, Mike Menchel and Doug Robinson for the Sony Pictures Television-based Happy Madison. (THR.com)
PERSONAL MOTIVES (ABC, New!) - Andy Stern has sold a potential import of Carlos Vila and Javier Holgado's 2005 Spanish series about "a high profile news anchor who has the unfortunate experience of seeing her husband arrested for murder live on-air during the evening newscast. Their lives are, of course, torn apart as she works desperately to try to prove his innocence." ABC Studios is behind the project with Calamity Jane's Ellen Pompeo and Laura Holstein as well as New Media Vision's Todd Lituchy also among the executive producers. (Deadline.com)
THOUSANDTH FLOOR, THE (ABC, New!) - Maggie Friedman ("Witches of East End") has landed a script commitment from the Alphabet for a new drama "set in 2118, in a thousand-story supertower on Manhattan's Upper East Side. A young woman's fall from the 1,000th floor ignites a scandal that ensnares the top-floor elite and the bottom-floor drones." The project is based on the upcoming book series by Katharine McGee. Alloy Entertainment's Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo and Greg Berlanti Productions' Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter also serve as executive producers for Warner Bros. Television. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED ADAM LEVINE PROJECT (NBC, New!) - "The Voice" coach Adam Levine has scored a pilot order from the Peacock for an hour-long reality series in which "unsuspecting superfans are surprised when a star they love "accidentally" shows up at a major event in their lives." Said effort is inspired by Levine's video for "Sugar," helmed by David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers). Levine and Dobkin then will executive produce alongside 222 Productions' Jordan Feldstein and Josh Gummersall as well as Renegade 83's David Garfinkle and Jay Renfroe. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED FAITH HILL PROJECT (Syndication, New!) - Country superstar Faith Hill is set to team with fellow singer Kellie Pickler for a potential "lifestyle show which will cover such topics as cooking, home design, gardening and entertaining." Pickler would co-host the series, which comes from Legendary Television and is being targeted for a fall 2016 or 2017 launch, with Hill making occassional appearances. Hill, Lisa Erspamer and Sandbox Entertainment's Jason Owen then are the executive producers. (THR.com)
UNTITLED ROB LONG PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Rob Long has booked a potential drama at the Alphabet about "a billionaire, newly acquitted for the murder of his wife and her lover, and the female detective who almost succeeded in putting him away." ABC Studios is behind the hour with Rick Porras, Pacific Standard's Reese Witherspoon and Bruna Papandrea likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
Y: THE LAST MAN (FX, New!) - Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra's comic book - about Yorick Brown, "the last surviving human with a Y chromosome and his Capuchin monkey, Ampersand" - is being developed as a drama at the cable channel. Color Force's Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson are also on board to executive produce the hour for FX Productions. The search is underway to find a writer to develop the series, which had previously been eyed as a feature at New Line. (THR.com)
ZONE OF SILENCE (NBC, New!) - Rashad Raisani ("Allegiance") has sold a potential drama to the Peacock about "an invisible interference which appears in the southwest and not only wreaks havoc on communications but is central to key myths, folklore and legends. When a group of ICE agents go missing under odd circumstances within the zone, a task force is formed to find them. Science clashes with the unexplained on a weekly basis while the larger search to explain the disappearance continues." Universal Television is behind the hour with Eric Winter, UnbeliEVAble Entertainment's Eva Longoria and Ben Spector and Blumhouse's Jason Blum and Jessica Rhoades also serving as executive producers. (Deadline.com)
