WatchESPN Available on the New Apple TV
Fans will soon be able to experience a new way to engage and interact with live and on-demand sports with WatchESPN on the new Apple TV. The app's cleaner, simpler design will match the aesthetic of the Apple TV platform. WatchESPN is available to download from the App Store for Apple TV which can be found on the home screen.
Immediately upon opening the WatchESPN app, a video from ESPN Originals will instantly play in the top section video player. Users will also be able to minimize or dock a video in progress while exploring other content available within WatchESPN, making multi-tasking easier than ever before.
Fans with an affiliated video subscription will be able to access both live and on-demand content. Short-form, on-demand video clips will be accessible to all Apple TV users.
In September, WatchESPN attracted more time spent on connect devices than ever before with 1.1 billion minutes viewed, more than double that of the same month last year (up 123 percent). WatchESPN viewers on connected devices are also consistently engaged the longest of all devices, averaging 907.9 total minutes per viewer in September, up 54 percent.
