"DATELINE NBC" CORRESPONDENT KEITH MORRISON JOINS INVESTIGATION DISCOVERY AS NEW HOST OF "DATELINE ON ID" AND EXCLUSIVE "FRONT PAGE" SPECIALS

Keith Morrison, Correspondent on "Dateline NBC," To Also Host "Dateline on ID" Beginning January 2016

NBC News' Peacock Productions-Produced FRONT PAGE "Instamentaries" Cover Major Cases and Events Making Headlines

Investigation Discovery announced today an exclusive deal with NBC News' Keith Morrison to expand his reporting and join the network as host of DATELINE ON ID and FRONT PAGE specials, in addition to his role as a correspondent on DATELINE NBC. Produced by NBC News' Emmy Award-winning Peacock Productions, Morrison will appear on new episodes of DATELINE ON ID beginning in January and on FRONT PAGE specials throughout 2016.

"We are thrilled to have Keith Morrison, arguably one of the very best and most iconic journalists covering crime stories in the United States, today, as host of our FRONT PAGE instamentaries and ID's updated episodes of DATELINE," said Henry Schleiff, group president at Discovery. "Indeed, Keith will bring his distinctive newsmagazine flair and reputation as a trusted news source to tell these stories to ID's audience as only he can with his incredibly unique and arresting delivery."

"I'm very much looking forward to the opportunity to continue telling the harrowing stories of crime and the pursuit of justice," said Keith Morrison. "By shining a light on these cases, we are able to tackle topics of broader importance to our society."

"For many viewers, Keith is synonymous with Dateline," said Sharon Scott, President and General Manager of Peacock Productions. "We are thrilled to be working with Keith on these important investigations and his wide-ranging expertise in the true crime genre makes him the perfect host for the episodes that air on Investigation Discovery."

Each episode of FRONT PAGE covers a major case making headlines, within just weeks of the initial incident or arrest. These quick turn-around documentaries, or "instamentaries," feature interviews with people closely associated with the case and expert commentary from ID's roster of experts spanning criminal profiling, criminal psychology, investigative journalism, legal analysis, forensic science and police investigation. Previous topics in FRONT PAGE include the Oscar Pistorious trial, the manhunt for escaped convicts Richard Matt and David Sweat.

DATELINE ON ID delves into baffling crimes and compelling real-life dramas, giving viewers the inside story of some of the most intriguing and shocking criminal investigations. Each one-hour episode goes behind the headlines to meet the detectives, the suspects, the victims, or their families whose lives were upended by a single devastating event. The emotion plays out in the courtroom -where even the darkest of secrets are laid bare. Through vivid storytelling, DATELINE ON ID is a window into the lives of those whose passion, jealousy, greed, arrogance, desperation or love has brought them and those around them, to a point of no return.
