INVESTIGATION DISCOVERY LAUNCHES SECOND INSTALLMENT OF "SERIAL THRILLER" AS A TWO-NIGHT TELEVISION EVENT ON DECEMBER 6 & 7

-- SERIAL THRILLER: THE CHAMELEON Features the chilling story of a prolific serial killer, with victims crossing state lines and disguises masking his identity for years --

(Silver Spring, Md.) - On the heels of its successful first foray into original scripted programming, Investigation Discovery (ID) will debut the next installment of SERIAL THRILLER as a two-night television event beginning on Sunday, December 6 from 9-11pm ET. THE CHAMELEON takes viewers behind a twisted true story of reinvention, revelation and passion. In the early '80s, fear grips a small American town when a cunning, manipulative sociopath emerges from the shadows. Targeting young females with his irresistible charm, The Chameleon carefully covers his tracks by masking his identity with multiple disguises. As the body count grows and suspects are eliminated, detectives are forced to expand their search across state lines. Viewers join authorities on the manhunt, learning that they are not only investigating the work of a serial killer, but also racing against the clock to save a survivor who has been his captive for 12 days. With three, one-hour episodes, SERIAL THRILLER: THE CHAMELEON launches as a two-night event beginning on Sunday, December 6, from 9pm-11pm ET, and concludes with the finale on Monday, December 7, at 9pm ET.

The SERIAL THRILLER trilogy propels viewers into a chilling true crime story of a real-life serial killer. The murderer's identity is a mystery at first, leaving viewers to unravel the clues from episode to episode, with each character's vivid storyline serving as a reminder that behind every crime are real people and lives devastatingly transformed. The eerie outcome may have been ripped from the headlines, but SERIAL THRILLER reveals the whole narrative by weaving together the factual accounts from those closest to the killer, and the survivors he left behind. The first installment of the trilogy, SERIAL THRILLER: ANGEL OF DECAY, premiered in June, 2015 and profiled notorious serial killer, Ted Bundy. The third and final installment will air on Investigation Discovery in 1Q 2016.

"As proven by the success of the first installment, SERIAL THRILLER is a tremendous opportunity for ID to expand into scripted-programming territory, engaging a whole new audience while staying true to ID's signature storytelling style," said Kevin Bennett, general manager of Investigation Discovery. "Leaving viewers at the edge of their seats, THE CHAMELEON unfolds the shocking twists and turns of a dark investigation that launched detectives on a four-year manhunt."

SERIAL THRILLER: THE CHAMELEON is produced for Investigation Discovery by October Films with Matt Robins, Lindsay Shapero and Steve Murphy as executive producers. SERIAL THRILLER: THE CHAMELEON is written by Matt Thomas and directed by Jim Greayer. For Investigation Discovery, Eugenie Vink is executive producer, Sara Kozak is senior vice president of production, Kevin Bennett is general manager, and Henry Schleiff is Group President.
