STAY SHARP DURING SPRING BREAK: AMERICAN HEROES CHANNEL PREMIERES SOPHOMORE SEASON OF HIT SERIES "WHAT HISTORY FORGOT"

-History Buff Joe Moniaci Back for New Season, Premiering Saturday, March 5 at 10/9c-

(Silver Spring, Md.) - Class is back in session! American Heroes Channel (AHC) announced today the return of its breakout series, WHAT HISTORY FORGOT, hosted by high school teacher and history buff Joe Moniaci. Premiering Saturday, March 5 at 10/9c, the second season of WHAT HISTORY FORGOT features six all-new episodes of fascinating forgotten stories that never made it into the textbooks - but that made an impact on our world today. From a pig that may have started a war to a group of fearless children who ignited the Civil Rights movement, Moniaci brings these lost histories and more to life as he travels the United States to speak first-hand with experts, visit landmarks and ultimately learn WHAT HISTORY FORGOT.

"WHAT HISTORY FORGOT provides viewers with real, fascinating stories that will change the way they look at history," said Kevin Bennett, general manager of American Heroes Channel. "Joe's infectious passion and expertise puts the spotlight on the lesser-known side of history, further establishing AHC as a dependable and entertaining resource for historical information."

In the premiere episode titled, "Defying the Nazis," Moniaci delves into some of the biggest deceptions, the clandestine operations and the secret weapons used by the Allies to help defy the Nazis in World War II. We all know of the crippling air assaults America unleashed on Germany during the war, but what about the top-secret village destroyed by our pilots in order to hone these deadly skills? Moniaci then uncovers a chilling secret hidden in sinister Nazi propaganda, and sits down exclusively with a woman who reveals the startling truth behind one of the most iconic pieces of Hitler's campaign for the pure Aryan race. Lastly, Moniaci looks into our fight with the Nazis that began nearly a year prior to Pearl Harbor... and in a place frighteningly close to home.

Additional premieres of WHAT HISTORY FORGOT are as follows:

Making America Premieres Saturday, March 12 at 10/9c We all know about George Washington, the California Gold Rush, the vast highways that stretch across America, and the wars between the United States and Great Britain... but what about the lesser-known stories and secrets behind the building of our great nation?

Fighting for Freedom Premieres Saturday, March 19 at 10/9c This all-new episode explores the individuals who risked life and limb fighting for our freedoms - from the fearless patriots who emerged from U.S. internment camps in WWII, to the brave men who risked their lives to save the helpless masses in Vietnam. History often remembers the pivotal events and their outcomes - and Joe reminds us of the heroes behind the stories.

Secrets and Scandals Premieres Saturday, March 26 at 10/9c Madison Square Garden is regarded as one of the world's most famous arenas, but did you know about the murderous crime of passion that occurred just above its hallowed halls? What about the government's fatal flaw during the Prohibition Era that they tried to delete from the history books?

Breaking the Rules Premieres Saturday, April 2 at 10/9c In this episode, Joe digs into the rules that were broken in order to forge the American spirit we know today. From the CIA's stealthy use of a remote location to train our nation's first spies, to the unexpected evolution of commercial aviation following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Joe uncovers the lesser-known stories of those who disobeyed authority to contribute to the greater good.

Top Secret World War II Premieres Saturday, April 9 at 10/9c While the textbooks teach quite a lot about World War II, there are many stories that were left out - such as the bold Jewish refugees who left the safety of America to extract war secrets from Nazi POWs, or the evolution of 'Frogmen,' who revolutionized modern warfare and emerged as the US's elite fighting force - the Navy Seals. Joe goes above and beyond to divulge new secrets about WWII.

WHAT HISTORY FORGOT is produced for American Heroes Channel by Atlas Media, with Bruce David Klein and Lorri Leighton as executive producers and Jackie Brewster as supervising producer. For American Heroes Channel, Max Culhane is executive producer, Sara Kozak is senior vice president of production, Kevin Bennett is general manager, and Henry Schleiff is Group President.
