BLACKLIST, THE (NBC, New!) - Famke Janssen, Edi Gathegi and Ryan Eggold are set to star in a proposed spin-off of the Peacock drama, which would air as a backdoor pilot of May 12. Said installment, written by Jon Bokenkamp and John Eisendrath and directed by Michael Dinner, would position Janssen's Susan "Scottie" Halsted (who will be introduced in the May 5 episode) and Eggold's Tom Keen in a mentor relationship similar to James Spader's Raymond "Red" Reddington and Megan Boone's Elizabeth Keen in the parent series. Gathegi's Matias Solomon, a Cabal operative sent to hunt down Reddington, would also factor into the project. John Davis and John Fox of the Sony Pictures Television-based Davis Entertainment are also executive producing. (Deadline.com)

AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Cynthia Addai-Robinson has joined the cast of USA's "Shooter" where she'll take over as Nadine Memphis, the female lead, from Emily Rios (Deadline.com); "Mozart in the Jungle" executive producer Paul Weitz's Depth of Field banner has inked a two-year first-look deal with Amazon Studios (Deadline.com); "The Royals" creator Mark Schwahn has signed an overall deal with co-producers Lionsgate Television and Universal Cable Productions (Deadline.com); Navid Negahban will recur on the new season of "Mistresses" as Jonathan Amadi, "an uber-successful Persian businessman" (Deadline.com); and Andrew W. Marlowe and Terri Edda Miller are set to make the TV rounds with "Take Two," a comedy crime procedural from StudioCanal's Tandem Productions (THR.com).
