G.L.O.W. (Netflix, New!) - Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch have set up a new series at the streaming service which "tells the fictionalized story of an out-of-work actress who finds one last attempt to live her dreams in the form of a weekly series about female wrestlers." Said effort, which has been given a 10-episode order, is inspired by the real-life female wrestling league G.L.O.W. (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling), which ran for four seasons in the 1980s. Jenji Kohan and Tara Herrmann ("Orange Is the New Black") also serve as executive producers. (Deadline.com)
SANTA CLARITA DIET (Netflix) - Skyler Gisondo (Vacation) is the latest addition to the comedy, in which Joel (Timothy Olyphant) and Sheila (Drew Barrymore) are husband and wife realtors leading vaguely discontented lives in the L.A. suburb of Santa Clarita, until Sheila goes through a dramatic change sending both their lives down a road of death and destruction...but in a good way. He'll play Eric, "Sheila and Joel's sweet, awkward teenage neighbor, whose love of science and the paranormal is rivaled only by his love for their daughter, Abby." (Deadline.com)
TOP 30 (Syndication, New!) - "Top 30 will premiere on Fox as a four-week summer series beginning June 6th! The show will cover the top 30 news stories of the day in 30 minutes. Yahoo News reporter Cynthia LuCiette, ThinkTank host Hannah Cranston and comedian Kevan Moezzi will host the series. Top 30 is being produced by Dino Bones Inc. and Dish Nation's Matt Blanock is the executive producer. It will feature national and international topics, with a millennial voice and edge. Top 30 will air on Fox owned stations in New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Phoenix, Tampa Bay and Minneapolis; on Media General stations in Austin, Buffalo, Dayton, Grand Rapids, Harrisburg, Hartford, Indianapolis, Mobile, Nashville, Providence and Spartanburg; and on Sinclair stations in West Palm Beach and Raleigh."
