EVERY BODY HAS A STORY IN INVESTIGATION DISCOVERY'S NEW FORENSIC SERIES "THE CORONER: I SPEAK FOR THE DEAD"

- Premiering Monday, July 18 at 10/9c, Renowned Pennsylvania Coroner Graham Hetrick Helps Resolve Puzzling Homicide Cases Through the Untold Stories of the Deceased -

(Silver Spring, Md.) - In death, deep and dark secrets are revealed by only one man: the coroner. This summer, Investigation Discovery (ID) presents THE CORONER: I SPEAK FOR THE DEAD, a gripping new series bringing audiences inside the work of one man who has truly seen it all in his 25 years on the job - Graham Hetrick. A seasoned coroner in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, this all-new eight part series features an inside look at shocking murder cases and complex forensic investigations: while detectives search for clues among the living, Hetrick uncovers the secrets of the dead. THE CORONER: I SPEAK FOR THE DEAD will premiere on Monday, July 18 at 10/9c.

"They say everybody has a story to tell - but Graham Hetrick knows well that every body has a story, and it's simply his job to listen," said Henry Schleiff, Group President of Investigation Discovery, American Heroes Channel and Destination America. "In this fascinating foray into forensics, THE CORONER: I SPEAK FOR THE DEAD showcases a critical element to resolving homicides: the role of a coroner. A natural-born storyteller and a bonafide mystery-solver, Hetrick has helped bring peace to the families of slain loved ones in search of answers, as well as to ensure that justice is, indeed, served."

Each episode of THE CORONER: I SPEAK FOR THE DEAD features one compelling homicide case pulled directly from Hetrick's personal files. From the moment he receives the call, to the crime scene where he is first introduced to the victim, to the autopsy, viewers are led through a series of twists and turns as Hetrick peels back the layers of the investigation to reveal how the murder happened and, more importantly, who is to blame.

In the premiere episode airing Monday, July 18 at 10/9c, Iris, a young mother, is beaten and shot to death in her tough Harrisburg neighborhood. Investigators aren't lacking for suspects - but Hetrick sees signs of a crime of passion and believes Iris' killer could be hiding in plain sight.

Subsequent episodes of THE CORONER: I SPEAK FOR THE DEAD:

Call the Coroner Premieres Monday, July 25 at 10/9c

Trial by Fire Premieres Monday, August 1 at 10/9c

When a young, married couple is discovered in the aftermath of a house fire, firefighters fear they arrived too late. Hetrick suspects that this fire is no accident - and while he may find the truth, will justice be served?

Unburying the Truth Premieres Monday, August 8 at 10/9c

Hetrick is facing the biggest challenge of his career: finding a connection between decades-old missing person's cases and a slew of unidentified victims. If successful, he could stop a serial killer in his tracks.

Skin Deep Premieres Monday, August 15 at 10/9c

When the smoke clears from a mysterious car fire, a charred body is discovered in the backseat. Hetrick identifies the victim and in piecing together the secrets of this man's life and death, reveals atrocities no one ever imagined.

Clash of Wills Premieres Monday, August 22 at 10/9c

A woman is murdered while working the late shift at a motel. Signs point to a crime of passion, but Hetrick knows it isn't so simple. Still, no one imagines it will take 12 years to catch a killer.

Washing of the Sins Premieres Monday, September 5 at 10/9c

In 2009, Hetrick is called to one of the strangest crime scenes of his career: a man has been stabbed to death, his body wrapped in garbage bags. But what is unearthed during the autopsy and murder investigation leads to an even more appalling conclusion.

Traumatic Ending Premieres Monday, September 12 at 10/9c

A woman suffers a seemingly accidental fall down flight of stairs, and dies from a traumatic brain injury. But after the autopsy, Hetrick suspects there is more than meets the eye. Ten years and two more mysterious deaths later, the truth is finally revealed.

On CrimeFeed.com, viewers can learn more about the life of a coroner through a series of essays by Hetrick. ID's Facebook page will also offer original video and show content, offering additional insight into the cases profiled as well as into the forensic field.

Hetrick's interest in building a career around death is rooted in childhood, heavily influenced by his father's example in running a family funeral home. In addition to being a coroner, Hetrick is a thantologist, medicolegal death investigator, forensics consultant, grief counselor and funeral director at the business built by his father - Hetrick-Bitner Funeral Home in Harrisburg, Pa. He is also an adjunct professor at the Harrisburg University of Science and Technology, teaching courses on forensics and anatomy, and a member of many community organizations, including the Susquehanna Township Lions Club, Colonial Park Rotary Club, the National Hospice Association, the International Police Association and the Pennsylvania Coroner's Association.
