BROADWAY, FILM AND TV PRODUCER MARC PLATT SIGNS FIRST-LOOK DEAL WITH TWENTIETH CENTURY FOX TELEVISION

Academy Award Nominee Oversaw FOX's hit, GREASE: LIVE

Marc Platt, who recently produced the critical and ratings smash GREASE: LIVE, as well as the Academy Award-nominated "Bridge of Spies" and the Broadway blockbuster "Wicked" - which will soon be made into a feature film - has signed a first-look deal with Twentieth Century Fox Television, it was announced today by Fox Television Group Chairmen and CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman. Under the deal, the studio will have the exclusive first look at any projects, live action or scripted, which Platt develops for television.

"Marc Platt is a powerhouse producer with an unparalleled track record of identifying and overseeing spectacular artists and marrying them with incredibly commercial ideas and properties," commented Walden and Newman. "GREASE: LIVE brought together some of the most inspired people from the worlds of theater, live events and television production, and Marc was quite literally the guiding hand of the show."

Remarked Platt, "I loved the GREASE: LIVE experience with the FOX team and I'm looking forward to continue working with Dana and Gary and everyone on future projects."

Platt recently produced FOX's hit live event, GREASE: LIVE, which received 10 Emmy Award nominations, including Outstanding Special Class Program. An Academy Award-nominated producer (most recently for the acclaimed "Bridge of Spies," directed by Steven Spielberg), he has developed some of the most successful film, theater and television projects of the last 30 years.

Platt's film resume includes such titles as "Legally Blonde," "Into the Woods" and "Drive." As a film executive, he oversaw box office and critical successes, including "Rudy," "As Good As It Gets," "Legends of the Fall," "Philadelphia" and "The Silence of the Lambs."

On Broadway, he is responsible for the mega-hit "Wicked," which, by 2013, had out-grossed every other Broadway production in history, has been seen by more than 50 million fans worldwide and globally has racked up more than $4 billion. He is currently at work on the film version, which will be released in December 2019.
