AMERICAN CRIME (ABC) - Cherry Jones will recur on the show's eight-episode third installment as "the matriarch of a large family agricultural operation." (Variety.com)
DAMNATION (USA) - Aden Young, Logan Marshall-Green, Sarah Jones, Chasten Harmon, Christopher Heyerdahl and Melinda Page Hamilton have all been cast in the period drama. Young stars as Seth Davenport, "a man masquerading as a small town Iowa preacher in the hopes of starting a full-blown insurrection against the status quo. Focused on his mission, he is unaware that an industrialist tycoon has hired a professional strikebreaker named Creeley Turner (Marshall-Green) to stop the uprising by any means necessary. But unbeknownst to those around them, these two men already share a secret bloody past." Jones will play Amelia Davenport, "who puts on a modest front as a preacher's wife in order to disguise her fierce political ambitions"; with Harmon as Bessie Louvin, "a recent arrival to the local house of ill repute who is literate and cunning with Machiavellian plans to achieve a life of independence"; Heyerdahl as Don Berryman, "the charming local sheriff who in fact ruthlessly controls the county's moonshining, bootlegging and prostitution rackets"; and Hamilton as Connie Nunn, "a brutally efficient professional strikebreaker who will arrive in Iowa seeking revenge for her husband's murder." GREY'S ANATOMY (ABC) - Ravi Patel ("Grandfathered") will drop by the veteran drama as Tamir Dahr, "a nurse at the hospital." (Deadline.com)
LEGEND OF MASTER LEGEND, THE (Amazon) - John Hawkes ("Eastbound & Down") is in talks to play the title role on the comedy pilot, about Master Legend (Hawkes), "a man who tries to defend justice and defeat wrongdoers on the Las Vegas Strip." (Deadline.com)
LOST IN SPACE (Netflix) - Toby Stephens and Maxwell Jenkins are both bound for the streaming service's reboot of the 1960s series. The former will play the dad, astrophysicist John Robinson, the expedition commander; with the latter as Will, the youngest Robinson child. Taylor Russell also stars as the Robinsons' eldest daughter, Judy. (Deadline.com)
MARQUIS, THE (ABC, New!) - Jake Coburn ("Quantico") has booked a potential drama at the Alphabet "described as a sexy and twisted character soap set in the most iconic and exclusive building in Manhattan." Said effort comes from Warner Bros. Television with My So-Called Company's Julie Plec and Berlanti Productions' Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter also among the executive producers. (Deadline.com)
MATA HARI (The CW, New!) - Micah Schraft ("Jane the Virgin") has landed a potential drama at the netlet billed as a "reimagining of the life of the infamous dancer, notorious lover, and World War One double agent. Following the brutal murder of her fiance, Mata Hari is drawn into a game of international espionage in order to avenge his death in this sexy spy thriller." Michael Weatherly and Laurie McCarthy will also executive produce for CBS Television Studios with Solar Drive Productions' Tiffany Grant co-executive producing. (Deadline.com)
STICK MAN (The CW, New!) - Cameron Prosandeh ("Helix") has set up a new drama at the netlet about "an amateur documentarian who returns to her hometown to chronicle the events of her brother's murder and the ensuing trial. While there, she finds herself increasingly sympathetic to the convicted killer, ultimately discovering evidence that links her brother's death to supernatural events." Tim Kring, Justin Levy and Dan Friedkin will also executive produce for CBS Television Studios. (Deadline.com)
SUPERNATURAL (The CW) - Rick Springfield and Kadeem Hardison are both bound for the new season as Vince Vincente, a new vessel for Lucifer, and Russell Lemmons, "a music industry mogul who has a history with Crowley," respectively. (EW.com)
TOY WARS (Amazon, New!) - Actor Josh Gad, writer Josh Schwartz and director Seth Gordon are set to team for a limited drama series at the streaming service "which follows the real-life battle between American toy giants Hasbro, the company behind GI Joe, Transformer and My Little Pony toys, and Barbie maker Mattel in the 1980s and 1990s." Gad, Schwartz and Ryan Dixon will co-write the project based G. Wayne Miller's book of the same name, subtitled, "The Epic Struggle Between G.I. Joe, Barbie, and the Companies that Make Them." Gordon then will direct as well as executive produce alongside Stephanie Savage and Story By Entertainment's Michael Prevet with Fake Empire's Lis Rowinski and Exibit A's Mary Rohlich as co-executive producers. UNTITLED JENNY LUMET PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Jenny Lumet (Rachel Getting Married) has scored a put pilot commitment from the Eye for a new drama which "centers on an elite team of investigators for the Northeast Regional U.S. Hate Crimes Unit who must confront their own biases as they keep the peace by solving myriad crimes against humanity while acting locally but thinking of the national repercussions." Katie Couric, David Marshall Grant, Alex Kurtzman and Heather Kadin are also attached as executive producers for the CBS Television Studios-based Secret Hideout and Katie Couric Media. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED LEAH REMINI PROJECT (A&E, New!) - Leah Remini is set to star in a new reality series for the cable channel which "will detail Remini's experience with Scientology and her 2013 departure as well as focus on the families of other church members." Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman of IPC (The Intellectual Property Corporation) are also executive producing alongside Remini. The series, currently in production, will roll out in early 2017. (THR.com)
UNTITLED LIZ TUCCILLO PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Liz Tuccillo (Hulu's "Paul the Male Matchmaker") has sold a single-camera comedy to the Alphabet which "chronicles what happens after one of two female best friends passes away. When your bossy best friend dies, who steps up to take charge?" ABC Studios-based Shondaland is behind the half-hour, which has a penalty attached, with Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers executive producing. (Deadline.com)
