Amazon Original Special "Just Add Magic Halloween" to Launch on Prime Video Friday, October 14

On Friday, October 14, the Amazon Original Special Just Add Magic Halloween, is set to launch on Prime Video. The Halloween Special is part of the brand-new season debuting early next year. Just Add Magic, rated 4.8 stars by customers with 87% 5-star reviews, is Amazon's most-streamed live-action Original Kids series.

Just Add Magic Halloween picks up right after Kelly, Hannah and Darbie's Last Ditch Layer Cake breaks all of the town's curses and brings an old enemy, Chuck Hankins, back to Saffron Falls. Now that Chuck is free, the girls are afraid that Chuck will be seeking revenge. Kelly, Hannah, and Darbie decide to cook a spell to find him but the main ingredient only blooms once a year on Halloween... but it's May. Knowing they can't wait five months, the girl's cook the Pick-a-Date Dates recipe to travel back in time to last year's Halloween. On the hunt for the elusive spice, the girls don Halloween costumes with masks to avoid their past selves, but when they come upon its location - in Ms. Silver's garden - it's already been dug up. Throughout their adventure they come to discover new things about that Halloween night and each other as they brave a haunted house in order to retrieve the precious ingredient.

Based on a popular children's book by the same name and aimed at ages six through eleven, Just Add Magic is a single-camera live-action series executive produced by Andrew Orenstein (Malcolm in the Middle) and Joe Nussbaum (George Lucas in Love, Awkward) and directed by Nussbaum. Starring Olivia Sanabia (Extant), Abby Donnelly (Suburgatory), Aubrey Miller (Austin & Ally), and Judah Bellamy (Home), the series follows Kelly (Sanabia) and her two best friends Darbie (Donnelly) and Hannah (Miller) as they stumble upon a mysterious cookbook in Kelly's attic and discover the recipes in this book are far from ordinary - they're magical. Just Add Magic also stars Dee Wallace (E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial) as Grandma, Amy Hill (50 First Dates) as Mama P, Ellen Karsten (Camp Takota) as Ms. Silvers, Catia Ojeda (Grey's Anatomy) as Mrs. Quinn and Andrew Burlinson (Parks and Recreation) as Mr. Quinn. Pixie Wespiser (Good Luck Charlie) serves as Producer.

Below are what customers have said about Just Add Magic:

· "Perfect for my 8 year old daughter, a blend of cooking and magic, two of her favorite things, as well as an interesting, immersive storyline that is not too complicated for her to follow. I also love the values that are reflected in the story- the importance of family and friends, following your heart, and being brave in the face of fear."

· "The power of three, links to the past, and young women who have special powers are familiar tropes, but Just Add Magic manages to bring a remarkably fresh perspective to these well-worn paths... Amazon has been producing very good series for young adults, and these shows are a compelling reason to keep or start a Prime membership."

· "I am 10 years old, and I watched this with my 7-year-old sister, 4-year-old brother, and my mom. We knew this show would be a winner after we watched the first episode! We love the magic of the cookbook, and the mysteriousness around the magic! This show keeps us wanting more with cliff hangers and a mystery at the end of every show! There have been many plot twists that add to the excitement. We love to try to figure out what will happen in the next show, and what Mama P is planning next."

· "Great movie for my daughter. I even sat down and watched the entire first season with her.... And in one weekend. It has everything: good values, suspense, intrigue, mystery, life lessons, friendship, and of course magic."
