Playing her legendary self, GLADYS KNIGHT is Alexandra's (Ryan Destiny) music idol, and also the aunt of Danielle, who works in Carlotta's (Queen Latifah) salon. When Danielle arranges for Ms. Knight to introduce the girls at the Taylor Brothers Hair Show, the girls are honored beyond belief.

About Gladys Knight

The great ones endure, and Gladys Knight has long been one of the greatest. Very few singers over the last 50 years have matched her unassailable artistry. The Georgia-born performer is a seven-time Grammy Award winner who has enjoyed No. 1 hits in pop, gospel, R&B and adult contemporary, and has triumphed in film, television and live performance. Most recently, Knight released "Where my Heart Belongs," a new inspiration gospel album which won an NAACP Image Award for "Outstanding Gospel Album." Finding time to make forays into film and television, Knight's recent credits include EMPIRE, "Apollo Live," "Hollywood Homicide" and " Dancing with the Stars." She is featured in the upcoming holiday movie "Almost Christmas," which opens in theaters Friday, Nov. 11.
