"EMBEDS," A COMPLEX NETWORKS ORIGINAL SERIES, REVELS IN THE SURPRISINGLY SALACIOUS WORLD OF YOUNG EMBEDDED REPORTERS ON THE PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN TRAIL

THE SCRIPTED COMEDY LAUNCHES JANUARY 18, 2017 ON GO90(TM)

[NEW YORK] - December 21, 2016 - Complex Networks' Seriously.TV today announced its new original series "Embeds," a scripted comedy set in the world of political media and executive produced by Oscar-nominated producer Michael De Luca, Megyn Kelly, and Scott Conroy, will premiere Wednesday, January 18, 2017 on go90.

Watch all new episodes of "Embeds"for free only on go90.com or the go90 app, available for iOS or Android.

Inspired by true events, the six-episode, half-hour scripted comedy focuses on five recent college graduates working as embedded reporters ("embeds") for various national news organizations on the presidential campaign trail. "Embeds" is a look at how this tight group of forward-thinking Millennials is unexpectedly shaping the future of their country. It's also a story of raucous adventures, cringe-worthy slip-ups, and intense bonds shared by fast friends who are in way over their heads - together.

"Embeds," is co-created by Scott Conroy (who also serves as executive producer) and Peter Hamby who know this world as well as anyone because they've lived it for almost a decade. The two met on the 2008 campaign trail when they were embeds for CBS News and CNN, traveling with the campaigns of Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin. Along the way, they compiled notebooks full of true tales from the road that range from the scandalous to the hilarious. Hamby is now Head of News at Snapchat where he oversees the platform's news content and hosts the political show "Good Luck America." Conroy is the co-author of the critically-acclaimed and bestselling Palin biography, Sarah From Alaska, and is the author of the upcoming Vote First Or Die - a book about the New Hampshire presidential primary, which will be published in April 2017.

"While 'Embeds' takes a tongue-in-cheek view of the trail, it's serious business ensuring that American citizens are informed and engaged in the political process. The show turns a much needed spotlight on the crucial role that young, embedded reporters play on the campaign trail," said Conroy. "It's true that the trail is intense and the pressure to get a scoop is enormous, and so we have the utmost respect for our colleagues who jump into the fray every four years," added Hamby.

"Embeds" immediately thrusts viewers into the world of a core group of young embedded reporters during the free-for-all early stages of a fictional primary campaign, as they chase a long-shot presidential candidate around Iowa. When we meet Quinn (Max Ehrich), Marissa (Kelsey Asbille), Noah (Taylor Zakhar), T.J. (Andre Jamal Kinney) and Syd (Chloe Brooks) in the pilot, it's been just a couple of weeks since the crew embarked on the road, but they've already gotten to know each other to an extent that would have taken years in a less intense setting. With each passing day, the embeds' fates become more entwined with the candidate's White House hopes. For everyone involved, it's win or go home. Meanwhile, their exceptionally close but complicated relationships are increasingly fraught as their feelings for each other become more apparent, threatening the stability of their fading relationships back home. Alexis G. Zall also stars as Claire, presidential candidate Dobson's attention-seeking daughter and Carrie-Lynn Neales as Dobson's foul-mouthed, vindictive press secretary, Brynn.

Ultimately, they provide a humorous glimpse into the modern campaign trail - where no day is quite like the one that came before it, and the country's future is shaped on a daily basis.

"We love the direction Scott and Peter took with this series using their experience and well-informed wit," said Ivana Kirkbride, Chief Content Officer at go90. "Complex Networks continues to deliver unique perspectives that we are quickly becoming known for and we feel the timing of 'Embeds' on go90 couldn't be better.

The series is executive produced by three-time Academy Award-nominated producer Michael De Luca (The Social Network, Moneyball, Captain Phillips) under his De Luca Productions banner along with Lucy Kitada, who oversaw production on set. Other executive producers include Megyn Kelly; Bryan Haas, who developed the idea with co-creators Conroy and Hamby and oversaw production; Kevin Mann, Brendan Bragg, and Jordana Mollick for Haven Entertainment; and Justin Killion and Cory Stern for Complex Networks' Seriously.TV. Danny Jelinek directed all six episodes. Todd Waldman serves as showrunner and executive producer.
