AMERICAN CRIME (ABC) - Emmy-winner Regina King has signed a two-year overall deal with ABC Studios. There she'll develop new series projects via her production company, Royal Ties. (Deadline.com)
ANIMAL KINGDOM (TNT) - Tembi Locke has scored an arc on the show's second season as Monica, "a smart, low-key woman who's the technical brains of a fencing operation the Codys rely on to sell their stolen goods." (Deadline.com)
BLUEGRASS/BLOOD RED (A.K.A. UNTITLED REBA MCENTIRE PROJECT) (ABC) - The Reba McEntire-led drama from writer Marc Cherry has officially been ordered to pilot. She plays Ruby Adair, "the sheriff of colorful small town Oxblood, KY, who finds her red state outlook challenged when a young FBI agent of Middle Eastern descent is sent to help her solve a horrific crime. Together they form an uneasy alliance as Ruby takes the agent behind the lace curtains of this Southern Gothic community to meet an assortment of bizarre characters, each with a secret of their own." CHICAGO JUSTICE (NBC) - Richard Brooks will reprise his role of "Law & Order" ADA Paul Robinette in an upcoming episode of the newcomer due this spring. (THR.com)
GOLDBERGS, THE (ABC) - Wendi McLendon-Covey's Beverly is expected to appear in the pilot for the show's proposed spin-off, which features Bryan Callen's gym teacher character, Mr. Mellor, and is set a decade after the parent series. (Deadline.com)
GOTHAM (FOX) - Raymond J. Barry will recur on the series as "the temple Shaman, a mysterious figure who enters Bruce's life with the stated intention of unlocking the potential of his own mind. While the Shaman says the fate of Gotham depends upon Bruce becoming the man the city needs him to become, the truth behind his intentions proves to be far more sinister." (Deadline.com)
