WAG THE DOG (HBO, New!) - Rajiv Joseph is spearheading a small screen take on the 1997 feature, which "follows a Washington, D.C. spin doctor (Robert De Niro) who, just days before a presidential election, distracts the electorate from a sex scandal by hiring a Hollywood film producer (Dustin Hoffman) to construct a fake war with Albania." Barry Levinson is on board to helm the Warner Bros. Television-based half-hour take as well as executive produce alongside Levinson/Fontana Co.'s Tom Fontana; Jason Sosnoff; and Tribeca Productions' De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Berry Welsh.
