ACT, THE (Hulu, New!) - Nick Antosca and Michelle Dean are developing a new true-crime anthology series at the streaming service. Season one will tell the true story of "single mom Dee Dee Blanchard who convinced everyone around her that her daughter, Gypsy, was sick with multiple serious illnesses even though Gypsy was perfectly healthy. When Dee Dee was found murdered from multiple stab wounds, her neighbors and extended family were stunned to learn that Gypsy was responsible, having convinced her boyfriend to kill her mom." Writ Large and Universal Cable Productions are co-producing. (Deadline.com)
CODE BLACK (CBS) - Executive producer David Marshall Grant has an overall deal with ABC Studios. Said pact will cover his duties on the series as well as any future development. (Deadline.com)
FOR THE PEOPLE (ABC) - Don Todd has been tapped as showrunner of the newcomer as part of a new two-year overall deal with producer ABC Studios. (Deadline.com)
HAPPY! (Syfy) - Joseph Reitman has been cast as "the crazy and delusional main villain" on the upcoming drama. (Deadline.com)
ORVILLE, THE (FOX) - Charlize Theron will drop by her A Million Ways to Die in the West co-star Seth MacFarlane's new drama in a yet-to-be-revealed role. (EW.com)
WESTWORLD (HBO) - Neil Jackson and Jonathan Tucker have both scored roles on the show's second season: Nicholas, "a charming, resourceful man who finds himself in uncharted territory"; and Major Craddock, "a commanding military officer," respectively. (Deadline.com)
