BIG BANG THEORY, THE (CBS) - Steve Holland has been named the day-to-day showrunner of the upcoming 11th season. He'll take over for Steven Molaro, who is shepherding the spin-off series "Young Sheldon." (Deadline.com)
DETOUR, THE (TBS) - Laura Benanti's USPIS Agent Edie has been upped to series regular for the upcoming third season. (Deadline.com)
FOR THE PEOPLE/HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER/SCANDAL (ABC) - Tom Verica has been named producing director on Shondaland's newcomer "For the People" while Jann Turner and Jet Wilkinson will fill said role on "Scandal" and "How to Get Away with Murder," respectively. (Deadline.com)
GIFTED, THE (FOX) - Matt Nix has signed a new two-year overall deal with producer 20th Century Fox Television. Said pact covers his duties on the newcomer as well as any future development. (Deadline.com)
GOLDBERGS, THE (ABC) - Ilan Mitchell-Smith (Weird Science) and WWE alum Bill Goldberg are both bound for the new season of the series. The former will play a teacher named Mr. Connelly while the latter is set as Coach Mellor's brother. (TVLine.com)
GOLIATH (Amazon) - James Wolk will recur on the show's sophomore run as FBI Special Agent Jeff Clayton, "who agrees to help Billy (Billy Bob Thornton) hunt down his prime suspect in the Marcos Pena murder, who was last seen in ICE custody. Meanwhile, Jeff shows a romantic interest in Patty (Nina Arianda)." (Deadline.com)
LOOMING TOWER, THE (Hulu) - Dhafer L'Abidine (Sex and the City 2) has been cast in an unspecified role in the upcoming drama. (THR.com)
QUANTICO (ABC) - Marlee Matlin has signed onto the new season as Jocelyn Turner, "an ex-FBI agent who was known at one time as the best undercover agent in the field, until a bomb blew up near her and rendered her deaf. The FBI put her out to pasture, but now she's being brought back to join a special unit with several other returning characters." (Deadline.com)
SCARE TACTICS (Syfy) - A new incarnation of the former Syfy staple - in which "unsuspecting marks who are set up by friends and family members to stumble into situations that resemble scenes from classic horror pics" - is being developed by Blumhouse Television and LikeMineDid Media. Scott Hallock, Jason Blum, Marci Wiseman and Jeremy Gold are presumably among the executive producers. No network is currently attached. (Variety.com)
SHUT EYE (Hulu) - Noah Bean has scored an arc on the show's second season as Foster Hillburn, "a buttoned up and ambitious Assistant U.S. District Attorney who is also a multi-faceted single dad. He's building a Rico case against the Romani crime families operating in and around Los Angeles. Foster pursues Rita's (Isabella Rossellini) cooperation - but whether she'll submit or not remains to be seen." (Deadline.com)
