Originally set up at NBC in 2010 with Akiva Goldsman and Ron Howard at the helm, the project subsequently moved to HBO in 2011 before being shelved indefinitely as the feature got off the ground. Idris Elba's Roland Deschain, Dennis Haysbert's Steven Deschain and Tom Taylor's Jake Chambers are expected to appear in the TV series, which will be based on "Wizard in Glass," the fourth book in series. Goldsman and Howard as well as Brian Grazer remain attached as executive producers. (THR.com)
