@MIDNIGHT (Comedy Central) - Emmy-winning executive producer/showrunner Jack Martin has signed an overall deal with Universal Television Alternative Studio. (Deadline.com)
BIG BANG THEORY, THE (CBS) - Bob Newhart will reprise his Emmy-winning role of Arthur Jeffries/Professor Proton later this season. Additionally, Wil Wheaton is also due back as Sheldon's on-again/off-again nemesis. (Deadline.com)
BLACK LIGHTNING (The CW) - Kyanna Simone Simpson is bound for the midseason entry as Kiesha, "the partner-in-crime/best friend of Jennifer Pierce (China Anne McClain), who also attends Garfield High School. The daughter of Inspector Henderson (Damon Gupton), Kiesha will encourage Jennifer to challenge her image as the perfect principal's daughter." (Deadline.com)

GET CHRISTIE LOVE (ABC, New!) - Courtney Kemp ("Power") booked a pilot production commitment from the Alphabet for a revival of the cult 1974-75 blaxploitation-themed TV movie/series. Said effort "centers on Christie Love, an African American female CIA agent who leads an elite ops unit. She transforms into whomever she needs to be to get the job done, especially when it's down to the wire and the stakes are life and death. The high-adrenaline missions of the series are anchored by an emotional mystery about Christie's first love - unearthing the truth about this relationship will be the biggest mission impossible of her life." Martin Chase Productions' Debra Martin Chase, One Race Television's Vin Diesel and Shana C. Waterman will executive produce alongside End of Episode's Kemp for Lionsgate Television and Universal Television. (Deadline.com)
GOLIATH (Amazon) - Matthew Del Negro has been tapped to recur on the show's sophomore run as Danny Loomis, "a charismatic yet devious political operator and consiglieri to the city's power elite under the guise of being a financial analyst." (Deadline.com)
HERE, NOW (HBO) - Necar Zadegan has scored a recurring role on Alan Ball's upcoming drama as Layla Shokrani, an unspecified character. (Deadline.com)
HOMELAND (Showtime) - Courtney Grosbeck will recur on the new season as Josie, "Carrie's (Claire Danes) youngest niece. Politically conscious and staunchly anti-Keane, Josie is the kind of teenager who protests the administration on weekends." (Deadline.com)
RESIDENT, THE (FOX) - Merrin Dungey has joined the cast of the midseason drama as "the hospital's tough and pragmatic CEO Claire Thorpe." She'll replace Moran Atias in said role as she'll transition to a different role, the "savvy, elegant head of marketing at Chastain Park Memorial." Dungey is the third such person to play Claire Thorpe with Valerie Cruz originating the role in the pilot. (Deadline.com)
THIS IS HEAVEN (Hulu, New!) - Kate Berlant and John Early are set to star in a pilot presentation for the streaming service billed as their "take on a classic half-hour comedy about two best friends Roger and Eva." Lorene Scafaria is helming the project, penned by said duo, for A24 with John Levenstein also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
TOO CLOSE TO HOME (NBC, New!) - Michael Lisbe and Nate Reger ("2 Broke Girls") has set up a potential multi-camera comedy at the Peacock about "two sisters who came from very humble beginnings. One of them bettered her circumstances through education and hard work, which paid off in the form of a relatively good life. That "good life" is upended when her much lazier sister strikes it rich by winning the lottery and comes crashing into her world." Warner Bros. TREMORS (Syfy) - Toks Olagundoye has been cast in the Kevin Bacon-led drama pilot as Jessica Florence, "an accomplished, city-chic civil engineer, Jessica's arrival in Perfection instantly piques the curiosity of Val (Bacon). But Jessica's in town for work, not play: she's been contracted by the enterprising Melvin to expand the access road." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED MCELHENNEY & ROSELL PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Rob McElhenney and Rob Rosell ("It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia") are set to re-team for a new comedy at the network about "an unconventional family in working-class America." The multi-camera project has a pilot production commitment with 3 Arts Entertainment's Nick Frenkel, Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton also on board to executive produce for 20th Century Fox Television.
