IFC'S "BROCKMIRE" STEPS BACK UP TO THE PLATE IN SEASON 2: MORE BASEBALL, MORE BOOZE, AND EVEN MORE GUEST STARS

Hank Azaria's Jim Brockmire Returning to IFC in Spring 2018

NEW YORK - October 30, 2017 - IFC today announced details and guest stars for Season 2 of Brockmire, its critically acclaimed comedy starring Hank Azaria (The Simpsons) as Jim Brockmire, the whiskey-soaked, plaid jacket-wearing baseball announcer trying to make a comeback in the major leagues. Currently in production in Atlanta and produced by Funny Or Die, Brockmire will return to IFC in spring 2018 with eight all-new episodes. Returning to star alongside Azaria are Tyrel Jackson Williams (Lab Rats) as Charles, Brockmire's unlikely best friend and roommate and Amanda Peet (Togetherness) as Jules, Brockmire's ex-girlfriend and owner of the Morristown Frackers. Guest stars Katie Finneran (Bloodline) and Hemky Madera (Queen of the South) also return as Lucy Brockmire and Pedro Uribe, respectively.

New guest stars coming to Brockmire Season 2 include (in alphabetical order):

· Becky Ann Baker (Girls) as Jean, Brockmires's tall, weathered, sober and asexual sister who lives in the Ozarks and resents Jim for her being forced to take care of their abusive alcoholic father all these years.

· Carrie Preston (True Blood) as Elle, a nihilistic female version of Brockmire whose fearless partying and self-destructive attitude fuels Brockmire's descent into the dark abyss that is partying in New Orleans.

· Dreama Walker (Doubt) as Whitney, a tough, ambitious Southern belle who heads PR for Atlanta's pro team - she sets in motion the competition between Brockmire and Raj to see who will win a major league broadcasting job and develops a clear preference as to who should win.

· Utkarsh Ambudkar (The Mindy Project) as Raj, a young, charismatic announcer who represents a "diversity play" to Whitney; he calls the New Orleans Crawdaddy's road games and is pitted against Brockmire to replace a beloved and ancient major league announcer in Atlanta.

Brockmire follows Jim Brockmire, a famed major league baseball announcer who suffered a notorious public breakdown after stumbling upon his wife's infidelity - a breakdown so bad that "Brutal Brockmire" became a viral internet meme. Season 1 began a decade later, as Brockmire looked to reclaim his career, reputation, and love life. He eventually found happiness calling games for the Morristown Frackers, the underdog minor league baseball team, alongside his girlfriend Jules.

Now one year removed from the Season 1 finale, which found Brockmire chasing an opportunity to call games in New Orleans (and leaving Jules in the process), he is a top podcaster with his show "Brock Bottom," while living with his co-dependent friend Charles... and boozing harder than ever. Trying to still reclaim his career as a top sportscaster, Brockmire indulges in the sinful temptations of the Big Easy, pines for his ex-girlfriend in Morristown, PA, and struggles to find his purpose in life.

Brockmire originally appeared as a viral short video on the award-winning comedy website Funny Or Die. The series is written and developed by Joel Church-Cooper (Undateable), directed by Mo Marable, and executive produced by Azaria, Church-Cooper, Marable, Tim Kirkby and Funny Or Die's Mike Farah and Joe Farrell.

Brockmire Season 1 is available to watch on iTunes, Google Play, Amazon and XBOX.
