BLACK LIGHTNING (The CW) - Skye Marshall will recur on the freshman drama as Mrs. Fowdy, "a Garfield High School vice principal." (Deadline.com)
BLACK VEIL, THE (TNT, New!) - Luisa Leschin has set up a potential drama at the network "inspired by actual events described in newly-released Inquisition documents from the Vatican regarding a criminal case against an Italian order of nuns, around 1800." Sofia Vergara, Luis Balaguer and Emiliano Calemzuk's Raze is the producer. (Deadline.com)
CATRINA: LA SANTA MUERTE (Netflix, New!) - Blanca Soto is set to topline a new action series at the streaming service "set on the geographical border between Mexico and the United States, at a time when the metaphysical border between the world of the living and the Land of the Dead is beginning to blur." Natasha Ybarra-Klor is penning the project with Soto also executive producing for Sofia Vergara, Luis Balaguer and Emiliano Calemzuk's Raze. (Deadline.com)
MI HERMANASTRO (Hulu, New!) - Liz Sczudlo has sold a domestic take on the online Latin American smash hit series about "two teenage step-siblings at odds with each other and struggling to find their place in life, who accidentally sleep together during a debauched game of seven minutes in heaven." Sofia Vergara, Luis Balaguer and Emiliano Calemzuk's Raze is producing. (Deadline.com)

SHANNARA CHRONICLES, THE (Spike TV) - The soon-to-be Paramount Network has canceled the fantasy series after two seasons. Producer Sonar Entertainment however plans to shop the project elsewhere. The show's November 22 finale drew a modest 460,000 viewers (233,000 adults 18-49) in Live+3 ratings. (Deadline.com)
TRUE DETECTIVE (HBO) - Scoot McNairy is the latest bound for the show's third season as Tom, "a father who suffers a terrible loss that ties his fate to that of two state police detectives over 10 years." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED J.J. ABRAMS PROJECT (New!) - J.J. Abrams is reportedly making the rounds with a space-set spec script with Apple and HBO among the targets. The drama is about "a family - consisting of a mother who works as a scientist, her husband and their young daughter - who all get into a terrible car crash. After the mother winds up in a coma, her daughter begins digging through her experiments in the basement and winds up being transported to another land amid a world's battle against a monstrous, oppressive force. Her father then follows her into this new world." Warner Bros. Television is producing with Bad Robot Productions' Ben Stephenson also slated to executive produce. (THR.com)
