ANDIE MACDOWELL, MINKA KELLY AND CHAD MICHAEL MURRAY ENCOUNTER LIFE, LOVE AND LOSS IN HALLMARK HALL OF FAME ORIGINAL FILM, "THE BEACH HOUSE," WORLD PREMIERE ON HALLMARK CHANNEL, APRIL 28

Based on New York Times Bestselling Author Mary Alice Monroe's Timeless Tale of Love and Sacrifice

STUDIO CITY, CA - February 21, 2018 - Andie MacDowell ("The Last Laugh," Magic Mike XXL), Minka Kelly ("Titans," "Away & Back") and Chad Michael Murray ("Agent Carter," "Sun Records") star in "The Beach House," a new Hallmark Hall of Fame original film World Premiere, Saturday, April 28 (9 p.m. ET/PT) on Hallmark Channel. Makenzie Vega ("The Good Wife") also stars in this timeless tale about life, love and relationships.

Caretta "Cara" Rutledge (Kelly) thought she'd left her Southern roots and troubled family far behind, but returns to the scenic Lowcountry of her childhood summers after losing her job in Chicago. There, she reconnects with her mother Lovie (MacDowell), who has been caring for her young, pregnant friend Toy (Vega) in her charming beach house. Before long, the rhythms of the island open Cara's heart in wonderful ways as she becomes a bona fide "turtle lady" who conserves the area's wildlife, repairs the family beach house and renews a past romance with former love, Brett (Murray). Eventually, Lovie reveals a secret she has been keeping from Cara and the mother daughter pair does their best to keep it from putting a dark cloud over the precious time they have together. When a devastating storm hits, Cara will help Lovie save hundreds of sea turtles from certain death and learn some of life's real truths in the process: lasting love requires sacrifice, family is forever and mistakes of the past can be forgiven.

"It's a great honor to bring Mary Alice Monroe's timeless novel to television," said Michelle Vicary, Executive Vice President, Programming & Publicity, Crown Media Family Networks.

"The performances of the cast - Andie, Minka, Chad Michael, Makenzie - are as graceful and lyrical as this beautiful film, which uses nature to describe the shifting shape of relationships and the range and rhythm of life that comes from becoming one with nature. 'The Beach House' is about finding serenity by accepting there are no perfect days, but a well lived life is made up of perfect moments strung together with love," Vicary concluded.

"'The Beach House' is a story of love, reconciliation and our connection to the nature that surrounds us. With such a rich story to draw from, I hope viewers will appreciate our dedication to bringing it to life for Hallmark Channel," said Andie MacDowell. "I'm thrilled that the audience will have a chance to fall in love, as I have, with the characters and the tale of the South Carolina loggerhead turtles that, my friend, Mary Alice Munroe has created through her novel of the same name. I also hope that it will inspire viewers to connect to nature and wildlife advocacy in their own communities," MacDowell concluded.

"The Beach House" is a Crown Media Productions, LLC production. Dan Wigutow, Andie MacDowell and Mary Alice Monroe are executive producers. Ron French and Stephen Harmaty are producers. Directed by Roger Spottiswoode from a script written by Maria Nation, based on the book by Mary Alice Monroe.
