NETFLIX REVEALS THE LAUNCH DATE OF THE NEW KOREAN ORIGINAL STAND-UP COMEDY SPECIAL

March 8, Seoul, Korea -- Netflix Inc., the world's leading internet entertainment service, announced that its first Korean Netflix Original Stand-Up Comedy Special Yoo Byungjae: Too Much Information(TMI) will launch on Mar. 16, available exclusively to Netflix members internationally.

Known as a comedic actor, screenwriter, and television personality in Korea, Yoo shot TMI in 2017 with YG Entertainment in Seoul, Korea. Short clips of the show have since gone viral, exceeding 10 million views online, and it also became one of the most searched pieces of content in Korea's top internet portals. Yoo also took part in Saturday Night Live Korea for four seasons as both a writer and cast member, which gave him the popularity that led to various variety TV show appearances including Infinite Challenge. Along with the stand-up, he will be taking part in YG Future Strategy Office(working title), a Netflix Original, as a cast member this year.

"I am very excited to team up with Netflix to bring my humor to the world, where some of the best stand-up comedy talent are at," said Yoo Byungjae. "I hope people have a good laugh in watching my show and this becomes a positive beginning for the stand-up comedy genre in Korea."

"We are thrilled to team up with Yoo Byungjae and YG Entertainment to introduce our first Original Stand-Up Comedy special from Korea," said Lisa Nishimura, Vice President of Original Documentary & Comedy at Netflix. "Yoo is truly a pioneer as the first stand-up comedian in Korea to have a star in his own special and we are very proud to be the home for this landmark moment."

The second part of Yoo's stand-up comedy will be shot in Seoul in April and released within the year as an Original Comedy Special exclusively through Netflix.
