FAMILY CRIMES (Starz) - The pay channel has rescinded its production commitment to the David Ayer-led drama, about a young privileged Latina who must reinvent herself in order to save her family when the feds close in on their business with the Mexican mob. Said report indicates "creative reasons" are behind the decision. (Deadline.com)
FRIENDS FROM COLLEGE (Netflix) - Sarah Chalke will recur on the upcoming second season as Merrill Morgan, "a Park Avenue WASP personified. She's a divorced mother of a teenage boy named Prescott, and she is Alpha to everyone she meets - beautiful, direct, confident; Gwyneth Paltrow minus the West Coast mellowness." (Deadline.com)
MRS. FLETCHER (HBO) - Jackson White, Casey Wilson, Owen Teague and Jen Richards have all been cast in the Kathryn Hahn-led comedy pilot, about "an empty-nest mom, Eve Fletcher (Hahn), and her college-student son, Brendan Fletcher (White), who embrace their newfound freedom with mixed results." Wilson then is Jane Rosen, "a happily married mother of academically gifted twins"; with Teague as Julian Spitzer, "a high school classmate of Brendan's, a smart but underachieving skater who's stuck in his hometown after graduation, trying to figure out what happens next"; and Richards as Margo Fairchild, "a trans woman who teaches a community college course on Gender and Society." TREMORS (Syfy) - Kevin Bacon took to social media to reveal the franchise's revival will not be moving forward: "Sad to report that my dream of revisiting the world of Perfection will not become a reality. Although we made a fantastic pilot (IMHO) the network has decided not to move forward. Thanks to our killer cast and everyone behind the scenes who worked so hard.
