FOX Confirms 17th Season for "Family Guy"; Ninth for "Bob's Burgers"

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- FOX has confirmed its animated staples "Family Guy" and "Bob's Burgers" will return for the 2018-19 season. Both series - along with "The Simpsons," which has 30 more episodes left on its blockbuster 2016 deal (read the story) - are already in production.

The network further detailed the projects as follows:

FAMILY GUY

· Studio: 20th Century Fox Television

· Format: 1/2-Hour Comedy (animated)

· Creator / EP: Seth MacFarlane

· EPs: Rich Appel and Alec Sulkin (who also serve as showrunners); Steve Callaghan, Danny Smith and Kara Vallow.

· LOGLINE: FAMILY GUY, the Emmy Award nominated animated program set in the fictional city of Quahog, Rhode Island, follows the adventures of the Griffin family.

· FAMILY GUY averages a 1.8/6 L7, with 10.6 million multi-platform viewers, a +302% lift from Live + Same Day

· VOICE CAST:

· Seth MacFarlane (Peter, Stewie and Brian Griffin)

· Alex Borstein (Lois Griffin)

· Seth Green (Chris Griffin)

· Mila Kunis (Meg Griffin)

· Mike Henry (Cleveland Brown)

FAMILY GUY has racked up numerous awards, including an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series, only the second animated series in television history to be honored with such a distinction. The series' creator and lead voice actor, Seth MacFarlane (voice of "Brian Griffin," "Peter Griffin" and "Stewie Griffin"), recently won the 2017 Emmy Award for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance. He also won the 2016 Emmy Award in the same category, and was nominated from 2013 to 2015. This season the series hit its 300th episode and next season will celebrate its 20th Anniversary.

BOB's BURGERS won the 2017 Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program, which it also won in the same category in 2014. The series also was nominated for the Emmy Award in 2015 & 2016. Next season the series will celebrated its 150th episode.
