CATCH-22 (Hulu) - Oscar-nominated actor Giancarlo Giannini (Seven Beauties) has signed onto the limited series as Marcello, "the proprietor of a brothel in Rome. He is weathered and once handsome but still debonair. He loves to challenge the young American soldiers about their patriotism, their worldview and their sense of history." (Deadline.com)
DESCENDANTS 3 (Disney) - Cheyenne Jackson has been cast as Hades, "the underworld ruler from Disney's 1997 toon Hercules," in the telefilm. Other new additions include Jadah Marie (Celia), Jamal Sims (Dr. Facilier), Christian Convery (Squeaky) and Luke Roessler (Squirmy) while Anna Cathcart (Dizzy), Jedidiah Goodacre (Chad), Zachary Gibson (Doug), Brenna D'Amico (Jane), Dan Payne (Beast), Keegan Connor Tracy (Belle) and Melanie Paxson (Fairy Godmother) have been confirmed as returning. EXPANSE, THE (Syfy) - Alcon Television Group is said to be in talks with Amazon about a potential fourth season of the recently axed drama. (Deadline.com)

KIDDING (Showtime) - Ginger Gonzaga will recur on the upcoming Jim Carrey-led comedy as Vivian, "a cancer patient at the hospital where Jeff's (Jim Carrey) wife works." Separately, Gonzaga lent her voice to Bobby Bowman's ABC comedy pilot, "Crazy Wonderful," portraying an older version of the titular daughter character Lola (Lilla Crawford). (Deadline.com)
MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL, THE (Amazon) - Amy Sherman-Palladino's series for the streaming service received the go-ahead for a third season over the weekend. (Variety.com)
WAR TORN: STORIES OF WAR FROM THE WOMEN REPORTERS WHO COVERED VIETNAM (Epix, New!) - Nina Tassler and Denise Di Novi's PatMa Productions is developing a new drama at the pay channel that "explores the little-examined role of female journalists who were credited with turning public opinion about the conflict. These nine journalists, traveling on their own dime and living in huts with the South Vietnamese, rejected the propaganda machine perpetuating the conflict to tell the true story of the war." No other auspices were given. (Deadline.com)
WWE SMACKDOWN (USA) - FOX has reportedly landed the rights to the WWE franchise as part of a new five-year deal worth more than $1 billion. The pact, which would begin in October 2019, would mark "SmackDown's" sixth home since in its launch on UPN in 1999. Other outlets include The CW, MyNetworkTV, Syfy and its current home, USA Network.
