ACT, THE (Hulu) - Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre is set to helm the true crime anthology's premiere installment for the streaming service. (Variety.com)
ALF (New!) - Warner Bros. Television is reportedly developing a reboot of Paul Fusco's former NBC staple, about "a hairy, sarcastic extraterrestrial who is taken in by a middle-class family." The search is underway for a writer. (TVLine.com)
BOSCH (Amazon) - Ryan Hurst is bound for the show's fifth season as Hector Bonner, "a former client of attorney Honey Chandler (Mimi Rogers), currently working as her investigator." (Deadline.com)
BRIARPATCH (USA) - Ana Lily Amirpour has signed on to helm the drama pilot, about a dogged investigator returning to her border-town Texas home after her sister is murdered by a car bomb. (Variety.com)
DANGEROUS BOOK FOR BOYS, THE (Amazon) - The streaming service has quietly passed on a second season for the Bryan Cranston-produced family comedy. (Deadline.com)
DARE ME (USA) - Steph Green has been tapped to direct the drama pilot, billed as an unflinching exploration of volatile female friendships, jealousy, loyalty, and the dynamics of power in a small Midwestern town. (Variety.com)
I FEEL BAD (NBC) - Brian George and Madhur Jaffrey, who played Emet's (Sarayu Blue) parents in the comedy pilot, have been upped to series regulars for the series. (THR.com)
LEGACIES (The CW) - "The Vampire Diaries" alum Steven R. McQueen will reprise his role of Jeremy on the third episode of the spin-off series while Peyton Alex Smith has joined the cast as Rafael, "a dangerously charismatic and newly-triggered werewolf." (Deadline.com, TVLine.com)
LESS THAN ZERO (Hulu) - The Austin Abrams-led drama pilot, written by Craig Wright and directed by Brett Morgan based on the famed Bret Easton Ellis novel-turned-film, has added Lily Donoghue as Blair, "Clay's (Abrams) sexy, smart former girlfriend who hopes to rekindle their relationship"; Cooper Koch as Julian, "Clay's childhood best friend who has forgone college to live as a free spirit - but that freedom is coming at a hard price"; Keenan Jolliff as Rip, "Clay's friend and drug dealer, who feels his trust fund might never run out"; Ronen Rubinstein as Trent, "good-looking, entitled, and vain, [he's] attending UCLA, but his real focus is modeling"; and James Bloor as Daniel, "a college classmate of Clay's and an outsider to his high school friends but every bit as troubled as they are." ROSWELL, NEW MEXICO (The CW) - Riley Voelkel will recur on the upcoming reboot as Cameron, "Max's quick-witted partner at the Sheriff's Department who has the rare ability to break through Max's stony cowboy facade. Scrappy, sexy, and cool, she's impossible to rattle and prides herself on being a realist who can handle whatever life throws her way." (EW.com)
SEE (Apple) - Yadira Guevara-Prip and Nesta Cooper are both bound for the high-concept drama as Bow Lion, "a young warrior"; and Haniwa, "a proud and determined young daughter," respectively. (Deadline.com)
SHRILL (Hulu) - The Aidy Bryant-led comedy - described as the story of Annie, a fat young woman who wants to change her life, but not her body - has been given a six-episode order by the streaming service. Bryant, Alexandra Rushfield and Lindy West penned the pilot script based on the latter's bestselling 2016 memoir. Jesse Peretz is directing and executive producing the first episode alongside Broadway Video's Lorne Michaels and Brownstone Productions' Elizabeth Banks and Max Handelman for Warner Bros. Television. Also starring are Lolly Adefope as Fran, "Annie's best friend and roommate"; Luka Jones as Ryan, "Annie's boyfriend"; Ian Owens as Amadi, "Annie's co-worker and friend"; and John Cameron Mitchell as Gabe, "Annie's boss." SLAUGHTERHOUSE-FIVE (New!) - Kari Skogland is attached to direct Universal Cable Productions' proposed series adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut's landmark novel. The project is currently being shopped by the studio with Patrick Macmanus, Gale Anne Hurd, Jon Brown and Bradley Yonover among the executive producers. (Variety.com)
SUPERGIRL (The CW) - Brent Spiner is set to recur on the upcoming season as Vice President Baker: "Adept and politically minded, VP Baker makes for an unlikely leader, but steps up in a big way when his country needs him most." (Deadline.com)
