BREAK WITH MICHELLE WOLF, THE/JOEL MCHALE SHOW WITH JOEL MCHALE, THE (Netflix) - The streaming service has canceled both of its weekly comedy entries, which wrapped their runs last month. (Deadline.com)
FAMILY PRACTICE, THE (FOX, New!) - Writers Erin Cardillo and Richard Keith and director Jason Winer have scored a put pilot commitment from the network for a new drama "set in the world of adoption, from the point of view of an eclectic group of attorneys and social workers who grapple with their own familial dysfunction while striving to create perfect families for their clients." 20th Century Fox TV-based Small Dog Picture Company is behind the hour with the company's Jon Radler also executive producing. LITTLE THINGS, THE (CBS, New!) - Married comedians Tom Segura and Christina Pazsitzky are attached to star in potential comedy at the Eye which "focuses on the funny coping mechanisms that get you through the harder parenting dilemmas." They'll likewise co-write the half-hour alongside Scott Marder for CBS Television Studios. 3 Arts Entertainment's Michael Rottenberg and Josh Lieberman also executive produce the project, which has a put pilot commitment. MAGIC HOUR (A.K.A. UNTITLED HILDE LYSIAK PROJECT) (Apple) - Brooklynn Prince (The Florida Project) is set to star in the upcoming drama, inspired by Hilde Lysiak, a young investigative reporter who, at age 9, was the first to expose a murder in her hometown of Selinsgrove, PA, breaking the news in her self-started newspaper, Orange Street News. MR. IGLESIAS (Netflix) - Jacob Vargas, Maggie Geha and Cree Cicchino are set to star in the Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias-led comedy, about a good-natured public high school teacher who works at his alma mater. Vargas will play Tony Medina, "Gabe's longtime best friend and fellow teacher at the high school"; with Geha as Abby, "another teacher at the school who is the idealistic antidote to Tony"; and Cicchino as Marisol Fuentes, "a 16-year-old determined, yet overworked student." Iglesias, Kevin Hench, Joe Meloche and Ron DeBlasio are the executive producers with Peter Murietta, Luisa Leschin and Sam Sklavar as co-executive producers. (Deadline.com)
SANTA CLARITA DIET (Netflix) - Shalita Grant has booked a recurring role on the upcoming third season as FBI agent Tess Rogers, "who is looking into a recent explosion at a fracking site in Santa Clarita." (Deadline.com)
SNOWPIERCER (TNT) - Steven Ogg is set to recur on the network's film-turned-TV series as Pike: "Hardened and battle-scarred, Pike was a career convict, serving time in Cook County Jail for armed robbery at the time of the Freeze but escaped. He is a leader in the Tail and a warrior of his people." (Deadline.com)
STAR (FOX) - William Levy has joined the cast of the show's third season as Mateo Ferrera, "a driven media mogul who can charm the devil into church. He is rich, successful, smooth as silk and married to his equal, Nina Ferrera, played by Camila Banus. Mateo makes and breaks his own rules as he sprints toward success. The first generation son of immigrant parents, he is determined to make his mark and build his legacy by any means necessary." (Deadline.com)
