HBO ORIGINAL SERIES "ARLI$$: THE ART OF THE SPORTS SUPERAGENT" AVAILABLE TO STREAM ON HBO NOW(R) AND HBO GO(R) STARTING SEPTEMBER 14, 2018

"Often hilariously, sometimes poignantly, 'Arliss' captured so much of what was both entertaining, but also ironic about sports in the 90s and the early 2000s." - Bob Costas

"A shrewd sendup of the culture of money, hype, and celebrity... 'Arliss' is one of the freshest shows to come along in a while." - Caryn James, The New York Times

ARLI$$: THE ART OF THE SPORTS SUPERAGENT is back! For the first time ever, all seven seasons of the hit HBO(R) original comedy series will be available to stream on HBO NOW(R) and HBO GO(R) starting September 14, in addition to partners' streaming platforms.

ARLI$$ follows the whirling-dervish life of a superagent who constantly flirts with disaster as he seeks to squeeze maximum profit from the glory of sports. Eternally optimistic and endlessly resourceful, Arliss Michaels is a high-powered Los Angeles sports agent whose Achilles' heel is his inability to say "no" to clients and employees. Beset by demanding corporate sponsors, unsentimental team owners and media sharks, this wheeler-dealer has an uncanny knack for finding solutions to seemingly hopeless problems - however unscrupulous the means. Arli$$, which ran on HBO from 1996 to 2002, "captured so much of what was both entertaining, but also ironic about sports in the 90s and the early 2000s" (Bob Costas).

The "hilariously, piercingly dead-on" (Skip Bayless, Fox Sports 1) comedy series ARLI$$ takes a behind-the-scenes look at the glitzy, big-money world of professional sports. Starring, written by and executive produced by actor/comedian Robert Wuhl, the show blurs the line between fact and fiction, combining fictional storylines with real-life events and guest appearances by real-life celebrities. The acclaimed series features an all-star cast consisting of Sandra Oh Jim Turner and Michael Boatman. Throughout the seven-season series, notable guest appearances include five Oscar(R) winners and nominees, more than 70 Emmy(R) nominees, over 20 Grammy(R) nominees, and 200 athletes.

"The show was built against a comedic backdrop but was never afraid to tackle the real societal issues that show up in sports on an increasingly frequent basis," says Robert Wuhl, executive producer, writer, and star of the series, "HBO was ahead of its time by letting us create this groundbreaking programming, and I couldn't be happier that the show will now play again for new audiences and those who always loved the show."

Executive producer Mike Tollin adds, "Every time something crazy happens in sports, someone asks me, 'What would Arli$$ do?' HBO bringing the show back provides a refresher course in the world of the ethically-challenged sports agent."

Binge all 80-episodes and see why renowned author Fran Leibowitz heralds, "I hate sports, but I love that show," when ARLI$$ is available to stream on HBO NOW and HBO GO starting September 14.
