Samantha Ware, Juan Castano, Keith Powers and Saamer Usmani join the cast of Mike Kelley's social thriller What / If. The four join previously announced Renée Zellweger, Jane Levy, and Blake Jenner.
Samantha Ware will play Angela. Samantha Ware is best known for her series regular role of "Jane Hayward" in the final season of GLEE. In the past year she has guest starred on BULL, NCIS: NOLA, CHICAGO MED and BARRY. She is also an accomplished theatre actress, appearing in shows such as Hamilton, Book of Mormon, and Lion King.
Juan Castano will play Marcos. He recently closed his stand-out performance as "Cristofer" in MCC's production of TRANSFERS by Lucy Thurber off-Broadway. TRANSFERS is the latest in a non-stop stream of NY theatre, including starring roles in A PARALLELOGRAM at 2nd Stage (directed by Michael Greif) and the Public's OEDIPUS EL REY as "Oedipus." For his achievements this season Juan has been honored with the Drama Desk's highly coveted SAM NORKIN AWARD given for off-Broadway excellence.
Keith Powers will play Todd. Keith Powers starred in two marquee African-American productions that have significantly shaped the culture in recent years, limited series THE NEW EDITION STORY and STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON. Keith will reprise his leading role as "Ronnie DeVoe" in the upcoming New Edition spin-off series THE BOBBY BROWN STORY. Keith's other credits include a leading role in FAMOUS IN LOVE, FEAR THE WALKING DEAD, TALES, FAKING IT, SIN CITY SAINTS, and the Netflix original feature film #REALITYHIGH.
Saamer Usmani will play Avery. Saamer is an NY based actor. He trained at LAMDA in the UK, earning a MA in Classical Acting. Upon graduating, Saamer landed 2 great plays at Canada's renowned Stratford Festival while at the same time recurring on the series Reign. After an extensive casting search, Saamer landed the coveted lead role in the Marc Cherry pilot opposite Reba McEntire.
