Small-town wedding photographer Allie finds herself in the middle of a murder mystery when the groom is shot dead during the first dance. Suspicion turns to Allie's brother Greg, the ex-boyfriend of the bride, so she launches her own investigation to clear his name. Crime Fiction Professor Amy and Detective Travis attend a play where a prop gun fires a real bullet, narrowly missing the star Bella. Declaring the theater, a crime scene, Travis interviews the set designer, who owes Bella money, her ex-husband, who wants her back, and Elliot, the male lead, who's enamored with her. Though shaken, Bella throws a party where Duncan, her jealous husband causes a scene, then finds her dead the next morning from a heart attack. Tracing the cause to drugs stolen from a pharmacy, Travis has suspects galore and, luckily, Amy's expertise in whodunits.
