NETFLIX FILMS "THE PARAMEDIC" WITH MARIO CASAS

Mario Casas stars on this psychological thriller directed by Carles Torras

The Paramedic, the new Netflix film starring Mario Casas (Adis, Palm Trees in the snow, Three steps above heaven) and directed by Carles Torras (Callback, Open 24h, Trash, Youth), is being shot in different locations in Catalunya such as Barcelona, Badalona and Lleida and it's filming will be extended for two more weeks (seven weeks in total).

The cast is completed by winner of The César Award and protagonist of a film winner of the Palme d'Or, Déborah Franois (Populaire, The Child, The first day of the rest of your life, The page turner), Guillermo Pfening (Nobody's watching, The German doctor), Celso Bugallo (The Sea Inside), Pol Monen (Amar, Who would you take to a deserted island?), Ral Jiménez (The Fury of a Patient Man) and Mara Rodrguez (The days to come).

Babieka Entertainment in collaboration with Zabriskie Films produce this film for Netflix.

The director and producer Carles Torras has declared his enthusiasm for making this ambitious project come true: "The Practitioner will awaken mixed feelings, an internal debate from which no one will come out unharmed. When watching the film, the spectator will discover a never before seen side of Mario Casas, in a registry in which the audience is not used to watching him. The spectator will enjoy the tandem created by him and Déborah Franois, with two of the best performances of the year. I feel very lucky to make this ambitious project come true, with a cast with international projection thanks to Netflix's support."

Miguel Ruz, producer of the film, has stated his admiration for the team that is part of the production: "Mario is one of those extraordinary actors that, when you see him perform, he manages to make you forget about all the characters he has played in previous films. On the second day of production while watching the monitor, I realized that Mario had already transformed into ngel. Carles has surprised me with his ability to take care of every detail in aesthetics, without forgetting the realism of the film. Carles accomplishes that a thriller such as this, becomes disturbing. Finally, thanks to the Netflix team, it has been possible that the production is done in record time."

Héctor H. Vicens (The corpse of Anna Fritz) and David Desola (The Platform) are co-screenwriters of The Paramedic alongside Carles Torras. Jordi Roca is producer, Sergio Adri is associated producer and Santi Lapeira, Denis Pedregosa and Orlando Pedregosa are executive producers of this fiction that will available on Netflix

About The Paramedic

ngel (Mario Casas) works as a paramedic on emergency services on an ambulance. After suffering a terrible accident, his life alongside Vane (Déborah Franois) begins to crumble.
