ASIAN DESCENT (Freeform, New!) - Cindy Fang has sold a potential comedy to the cable channel about "an aspiring musician who sets aside her dreams and pride by moving back home with her immigrant parents and leans on her high school friends to figure out the next chapter of her life." Melvin Mar and Jake Kasdan are also on board to executive produce for Fox 21 Television Studios. (Variety.com)
B POSITIVE (CBS) - Thomas Middleditch has snagged the lead role on the multi-camera comedy pilot, about Drew (Middleditch), "a newly divorced dad faced with finding a kidney donor and who is at the end of his rope when he runs into Gina (Annaleigh Ashford), a rough-around-the edges woman from his past who volunteers her own. Together they form an unlikely bond and begin a journey that will change both of their lives." (Deadline.com)
BIG DEAL (Showtime) - Tami Sagher has been tapped for a role on the Molly Shannon/Vanessa Bayer-led comedy pilot as Tami, "an offbeat backstage producer." (Deadline.com)
BIG SKY, THE (ABC) - Kylie Bunbury is the latest to be cast in the upcoming drama as Cassie Dewell, "an ex-rodeo rider turned private detective, Cassie is the junior partner of Cody Hoyt (Ryan Phillippe) at their firm, Hoyt and Dewell, who is eager to get involved in the case of the missing girls." BRIDES, THE (ABC) - Katherine Reis, Chris Mason and Sophia Tatum will join Gina Torres in the supernatural drama pilot. Reis is Lily Stevens, "the youngest of the three Brides of Dracula, a striving singer in New York City whose relationship to a news reporter threatens to tear apart her marriage to her "sisters."" Mason will play Roland Grant, "this stylish real estate mogul arrives in town to challenge Cleo (Torres) - the "Queen of New York City real estate," and the leader of the brides of Dracula - for professional supremacy." And Tatum is Justine Strang, "completely friendless and new to town, Justine shows up at the studio of Renée Pélagie, a top modeling agent in New York City and the "middle" bride of Dracula." EQUALIZER, THE (CBS) - Tory Kittles has scored a role on the reboot series pilot as Marcus Dante, "a highly intelligent, soft-spoken yet powerful and shrewd NYPD detective, with a cultivated veneer." (Deadline.com)
FLASH, THE (The CW) - Brandon McKnight's Chester P. Runk will be promoted to regular for the show's recently ordered seventh season. (Deadline.com)
KEVIN CAN F*** HIMSELF (AMC) - Eric Petersen, Mary Hollis Inboden and Alex Bonifer have all been cast in the upcoming series. Petersen plays "Allison's self-centered husband Kevin, a cable guy of no ambitions"; with Mary Hollis as Patty, "Kevin and Allison's neighbor"; and Bonifer as Neil, "Patty's brother and Kevin's best friend." LORD OF THE RINGS, THE (Amazon) - Maxim Baldry has scored a top secret role on the much-ballyhooed series. (Deadline.com)
MAGICIANS, THE (Syfy) - The fantasy drama series will sign off after five seasons on April 1. "The Magicians has been a part of our Syfy family for five fantastic seasons," Syfy said in a statement. "As we near the end of this journey, we want to thank John McNamara, Sera Gamble, Henry Alonso Myers, Lev Grossman, and our entire brilliant cast, crew, writers and directors for their beautiful creation. But most of all, we thank the fans for their tremendous support and passion. Because of you, magic will be in our hearts forever." (Deadline.com)
NEW AMSTERDAM (NBC) - Daniel Dae Kim will recur on the medical drama as "new head trauma surgeon Dr. Cassian Shin." (Deadline.com)
ORDINARY JOE (NBC) - Natalie Martinez and Charlie Barnett are both bound for the James Wolk-led drama pilot. Martinez will play Amy, "a bright and caring woman who forms an immediate connection with Joe (Wolk)"; while Barnett is Eric Payne, "one of Joe's (Wolk) closest friends." (Deadline.com)
OUT THE DOOR (CBS) - Production on the drama pilot has been pushed due to casting difficulties. In the project, "upon learning that his impending retirement is being pushed off by several years, an LAPD detective who just wants his pension so he can go off and live the good life decides to do everything in his power to get fired, but his bad behavior only leads to surprising success at solving cases." PRESIDENT IS MISSING, THE (Showtime) - Ann Dowd has booked the title role on the drama pilot, about "a powerless and politically aimless vice president (David Oyelowo) unexpectedly becomes president halfway into his administration's first term when President Jillian Stroud (Dowd) goes missing, despite his every wish to the contrary." REPUBLIC OF SARAH, THE (The CW) - Izabella Alvarez, Nia Holloway and Hope Lauren have all booked roles on the drama pilot, which has also added Kat Candler to direct and executive produce. Alvarez will play Maya, "after her mother's imprisonment in Los Angeles, Maya is sent to Greylock to live with her estranged father." Holloway then is Amy/AJ, "sarcastic and cynical, AJ is Sarah's roommate and longtime friend"; with Lauren as Corinne, "a bubbly girl next door, Corinne is Sarah's devoted best friend." (Deadline.com)
SAUCE, THE (Quibi) - Usher has been tapped as a judge and executive producer of the upcoming dance competition series. (Deadline.com)
SOMEONE OUT THERE (NBC) - Ryan Hansen, Aimee Carrero and Neil Casey are the first to be cast in the comedy pilot, about "two set-in-their-ways adults, Derek (Hansen) and Chloe (Carrero), who are challenged by very unexpected strangers to become the best versions of themselves in order to find love and possibly each other." Hansen's Derek is "a film composer who thinks he has it all"; while Carrero's Chloe is "a no-nonsense bridal boutique owner." Casey plays Boyd, "Derek's sad sack brother." (Deadline.com)
STRANGER THINGS (Netflix) - Brett Gelman's Murray Bauman will return as a regular for the upcoming fourth season. (Deadline.com)
SUPERNATURAL (The CW) - Genevieve Padalecki and Danneel Ackles will both return for the show's March 23 episode. The former is back as Ruby, "the demon who introduced Sam to drinking demon blood, slept with him, and then ultimately, betrayed him." And the latter will reprise her role of Jo, "who was introduced in season 13 and last seen in season 14, will come face-to-face with Ruby in the upcoming hour." (EW.com)
