For the first time in nearly 30 years, MTV brings back "Club MTV" for a LIVE one-night musical event featuring D-Nice, airing Saturday, April 25th

"Club MTV Presents #DanceTogether with D-Nice" to raise proceeds for The Save the Music Foundation and bring music programs to students in underserved communities severely impacted by COVID-19

New York, NY (April 21, 2020) - MTV and renowned DJ Derrick "D-Nice" Jones are uniting celebrities and fans alike for a special edition of the iconic "Club MTV" franchise, "Club MTV Presents #DanceTogether with D-Nice." Everyone is a VIP as the acclaimed DJ evolves his groundbreaking Club Quarantine movement exclusively for MTV. The one-hour, music event airs live Saturday, April 25th at 10PM ET/PT on MTV, and simulcast across VH1 and MTV2. Additionally, MTV will expand the audience and live-stream on Pluto TV for the first time ever.

Hosted from his Downtown Los Angeles home, D-Nice will spin an eclectic mix of classic jams and today's hottest hits during the interactive party, while also engaging with A-list friends, viral social media dancers and fans through on-screen pop-ins and dance challenges. Viewers can join the conversation from the comfort of their homes by commenting and posting online with the hashtag #DanceTogether.

As a part of the #AloneTogether campaign, fans will be encouraged to #DanceTogether and donate to benefit The Save The Music Foundation. The music education nonprofit is working rapidly to ensure students in underserved communities severely impacted by this pandemic, particularly New York, Los Angeles, Newark and New Orleans, have access to remote music education. All participants and viewers can donate by visiting savethemusic.org/dance or texting DANCE to 91999.

MTV's #AloneTogether is a global campaign that educates audiences on the importance of staying calm, connected and active while staying home during the coronavirus pandemic.

Since its debut in 1987, "Club MTV" has featured celebrity cameos, pop culture moments and unforgettable performances from artists including The Ramones, Paula Abdul, Salt-N-Pepa, Debbie Harry, MC Hammer, Vanessa Williams, Vanilla Ice, and many more.

"Club MTV Presents #DanceTogether with D-Nice" is produced for MTV by MGM's Big Fish Entertainment. Elena Diaz and Candida Boyette-Clemons are Executive Producers for MTV. Derrick "D-Nice" Jones serves as an executive producer. Dan Cesareo, Lucilla D'Agostino, Jordana Starr and Marta Ravin serve as executive producers for Big Fish Entertainment.

ABOUT MTV:

MTV is the leading global youth media brand in 180 countries, reaching 450 million households in nearly 30 different languages across every platform. A unit of Viacom Inc. (NASDAQ: VIAB, VIA), MTV operations span cable and mobile networks, live events, theatrical films and MTV Studios.

ABOUT D-NICE:

Derrick "D-Nice" Jones, with a multi-decade music career that has taken him from the Apollo to Singapore, and seemingly everywhere in-between, can proudly say he's earned it. At just 16 years old, D-Nice was a founding member of the iconic '80s rap group, Boogie Down Productions. By 1990, he had a Billboard No. 1 single off his self-produced debut album, "Call Me D-Nice." As the landscape of Hip-Hop, and New York itself, began to shift, D-Nice recognized the need to transcend. A proven talent behind the turntables, D-Nice sought a creative outlet in famed downtown clubs, such as Lotus and Table 50. The venues were pioneering DJs who were blending old school tracks and dance classics with the latest rock. It wasn't long before he made a name for himself with a deejaying style that set him apart from all others. From Oscar night galas to the Super Bowl, or from Essence Fest to the legendary private parties thrown by Diddy, D-Nice could now be heard in places like Cannes, Singapore, South Africa and Miami. D-Nice discovered he not only possessed an ear for a mix, but an eye for capturing stunning images as well. Strapped with a Leica camera, from his expanding collection, he began documenting his life and travels through the lens of his camera. D-Nice moves seamlessly between gigs, whether he's rocking the Apollo Theater's Spring Gala with Stevie Wonder or shooting the campaign for Dave Chappelle's Netflix comedy special. Currently, he is a brand DJ for Hennessy and holds a DJ residency at Atlantic City's Borgata Hotel Casino. He has also had the distinct honor of spinning multiple times at the request of President Barack Obama, including President Obama's 2012 Inaugural Ball. Positive and always creative, the father of two continues to evolve his BrandNice agency into new territory.
