HEAD OF THE CLASS (HBO Max, New!) - Amy Pocha and Seth Cohen are spearheading a reboot of the 1986-1991 series which "revolves around a group of overachieving high school students who meet their greatest challenge - a teacher who wants them to focus less on grades and more on experiencing life." The multi-camera project has an order for a pilot and five additional scripts. Steven Cragg and Brian Bradley and Doozer Productions' Bill Lawrence and Jeff Ingold will also executive produce for Warner Horizon Television with Liza Katzer as a co-executive producer. Television-based project with Martin Gero, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and David Madden as well as writer Christina M. Kim executive producing. Director Hanelle Culpepper also serves as a co-executive producer. Its logline is as follows: "A quarter-life crisis causes a young Chinese-American woman to drop out of college and go on a life-changing journey to an isolated monastery in China. But when she returns to find her hometown overrun with crime and corruption, she uses her martial arts skills and Shaolin values to protect her community and bring criminals to justice... all while searching for the assassin who killed her Shaolin mentor and is now targeting her." (Deadline.com)
