FLACK (Pop TV) - Amazon has come to the rescue of the series following its cancellation by cable channel Pop TV. The streaming service has acquired the rights to both seasons of the series, the second of which has yet to air in the United States. It will also have the option for a potential third season. (Deadline.com)
OTHER TYPIST, THE (Hulu, New!) - Keira Knightley is attached to topline a limited series adaptation of Suzanne Rindell's novel for the streaming service. Set in New York City at the height of the Prohibition era, the project is "a psycho-sexual suspense thriller that turns on themes of identity, class, obsession and misplaced (or misunderstood) desire. In it, Rose, a prim, unworldly police department typist gets drawn into the shady world of her glamorous new co-worker, Odalie (Knightley) but when the ultimate crime is committed, it's uncertain which of the two women was the more treacherous." Ilene Chaiken is spearheading the project with Knightley, Rindell and 3 Arts Entertainment's Oly Obst also executive producing for Searchlight Television and 20th Century Fox Television. VIRGIN RIVER (Netflix) - Ben Hollingsworth's Dan Brady - "Jack's (Martin Henderson) old Marine comrade who turns up in Jack's life like a bad penny" - will return as a regular for the show's second season. (Deadline.com)
