CARNIVAL ROW (Amazon) - Filming has been completed on the show's second season in the Czech Republic "under strict coronavirus protocols." (Deadline.com)
ESSEX SERPENT, THE (Apple TV+, New!) - Keira Knightley is attached to star in a TV series adaptation of Sarah Perry's novel at the company which "follows newly widowed Cora, played by Knightley, who, having being released from an abusive marriage, relocates from Victorian London to the small village of Aldwinter in Essex, intrigued by a local superstition that a mythical creature known as the Essex Serpent has returned to the area." Writer Anna Symon and director Clio Barnard are behind the project with Knightley, Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Patrick Walters, Iain Canning and Emile Sherman likewise executive producing for See-Saw Films. Andrea Cornwell will serve as producer. (Deadline.com)
FOR THE LOVE OF JASON (UMC, New!) - Trell Woodberry is set to star in a new six-episode series at the streaming service which "looks at being single in your 30s from the male perspective." The project, due in November, will also be produced by Woodberry via his T. Wood Productions in association with Deshawn Plair and Sade Oyinade of Flower Ave Films. Michael Vaughn Hernandez is the director while Jackée Harry, Kareem Grimes, B.J. Britt, Brely Evans and Laila Odom also star. (Deadline.com)
GOSSIP GIRL (HBO Max) - Jordan Alexander is the latest addition to the reboot series in a yet-to-be-revealed role. Filming is targeted to get underway this fall. (Deadline.com)
HAUNTED (Netflix) - A third season of the series has reportedly headed back into pre-production over the summer in the Czech Republic. (Deadline.com)
POWERPUFF GIRLS, THE (The CW, New!) - Diablo Cody and Heather V. Regnier are set to team for a live-action take on Craig McCracken's animated series in which America's pint-sized superheroes are now "disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime fighting." Warner Bros. Television is behind the project, with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and David Madden of Berlanti Productions executive producing alongside Regnier and Vita Vera Films' Cody. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED NISHA GANATRA PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Writer/director Nisha Ganatra is developing a single-camera comedy at the Alphabet which "revolves around an unlucky-in-love romantic and her no-nonsense mom who butt heads as they run the most successful matchmaking service in Little India." ABC Signature, home to Ganatra's overall deal for her Ladies' Car Productions banner, is producing. (Deadline.com)
WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE (ABC) - The Jimmy Kimmel-hosted incarnation has resumed shooting in Los Angeles with "a minimal crew and without an audience." Said run will "also feature frontline workers and others severely affected by COVID-19." (Deadline.com)
