OVATION TV TO AIR BELOVED U.K. DETECTIVE SERIES "DEATH IN PARADISE" ON THURSDAY NIGHTS
Episodes will Air in Four-Hour Blocks Starting October 1
Los Angeles, CA - September 11, 2020 - Ovation TV, America's only arts network, has announced that it will begin airing the much-loved British detective series Death in Paradise on Thursday nights this fall. The long-running fish-out-of-water drama series stars an international cast including Ben Miller, Sara Martins, Danny John-Jules, Gary Carr, Don Warrington, and Élizabeth Bourgine. The first six seasons of Death in Paradise will air on Ovation TV in four-hour blocks starting Thursday, October 1 at 7pm ET / 4pm PT.
At the start of the series, UK detective Richard Poole (Ben Miller) is assigned to investigate the murder of a British police officer on the fictional Caribbean island of Saint Marie. After he successfully finds the murderer, he is ordered by his supervisors to replace the victim and stay on as the head detective inspector of the island, solving new cases as they appear and being the object of many fish-out-of-water jokes. Kris Marshall joins the series as detective Humphrey Goodman in seasons 3-6; Ardal O'Hanlon joins as Jack Mooney in season 6.
Season One, episodes 1-4, will air on Thursday, October 1 from 7pm ET to 11pm ET
In his first cases on Saint Marie, detective inspector Richard Poole (Ben Miller) investigates the murders of a fellow British detective inspector, a bride, a voodoo priestess, and a missing husband.
Season One, episodes 5-8, will air on Thursday, October 8 from 7pm ET to 11pm ET
Detective inspector Richard Poole (Ben Miller) investigates the murders of a prisoner, an experienced diver found in ten feet of water, the lead singer of a rock band, and a police informant.
Season Two, episodes 1-4, will air on Thursday, October 15 from 7pm ET to 11pm ET
Detective inspector Richard Poole (Ben Miller) investigates the deaths of a sugar plantation owner, a teenage nun, a plastic surgery patient, and a treasure hunter.
Season Two, episodes 5-8, will air on Thursday, October 22 from 7pm ET to 11pm ET
Detective inspector Richard Poole (Ben Miller) investigates the murders of an aspiring singer, a British tourist, a researcher, and a philanthropist.
Season Three, episodes 1-4, will air on Thursday, October 29 from 7pm ET to 11pm ET
Detective inspector Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) arrives on Saint Marie to investigate the murder of DI Richard Poole (Ben Miller). After his wife back in the UK leaves him, he decides to stay on the island. He also investigates the deaths of a horror-film stand-in, a gigolo, and a flight attendant.
Season Three, episodes 5-8, will air on Thursday, November 5 from 7pm ET to 11pm ET
Detective inspector Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) investigates the deaths of Saint Marie's commerce minister, a birdwatcher, a land developer, and a newly retired senior citizen.
Season Four, episodes 1-4, will air on Thursday, November 12 from 7pm ET to 11pm ET
Detective inspector Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) investigates the murders of a rum distillery owner, a surf school owner, the president of the Saint Marie Heritage Society, and a bachelorette.
Season Four, episodes 5-8, will air on Thursday, November 19 from 7pm ET to 11pm ET
Detective inspector Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) investigates the deaths of a lead singer of a pop group, a high-profile volleyball player, an overbearing boss, and a prisoner.
Season Five, episodes 1-4, will air on Thursday, November 26 from 7pm ET to 11pm ET
Detective inspector Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) investigates the murders of a millionaire philanthropist, Saint Marie's outgoing governor, a fashion model, and the friend of an officer.
Season Five, episodes 5-8, will air on Thursday, December 3 from 7pm ET to 11pm ET
Detective inspector Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) investigates the deaths of a businessman, a restauranteur, a treasure hunter, and a tourist.
Season Six, episodes 1-4, will air on Thursday, December 10 from 7pm ET to 11pm ET
Detective inspector Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) investigates the deaths of a volcanologist, the former classmate of a Sergeant, a hotel manager, and a cricket club president.
Season Six, episodes 5-8, will air on Thursday, December 17 from 7pm ET to 11pm ET
The murder of a partygoer in Saint Marie leads the team to London. There, detective inspector Jack Mooney (Ardal O'Hanlon) agrees to replace Detective inspector Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) in Saint Marie after Goodman decides to stay in the UK. Mooney's first cases in Saint Marie involve the deaths of a tourist and a mayoral candidate.
