I'M IN LOVE WITH THE DANCER FROM MY BAT MITZVAH (The CW, New!) - Ilana Wolpert has sold a new dramedy to the netlet about "a young woman on the cusp of college graduation, who, after being romantically rejected by her best friend, becomes obsessed with a dancer from her bat mitzvah, leading her and her friends down a dangerous rabbit hole of criminal conspiracy." Rachel Bloom and Debbie Liebling are also set to executive produce for CBS Television Studios. (Deadline.com)
LEWISBURG (NBC, New!) - Gbenga Akinnagbe has scored a script commitment plus penalty from the network for a semi-autobiographical drama about "a young man whose only way out of East Baltimore is his wrestling talent. When he accepts an offer to join the nationally ranked team at a university in central Pennsylvania, however, he winds up grappling with much more than he ever imagined, including issues of race, class and the personal costs of confronting our most entrenched systems." Corinne Brinkerhoff, Rideback's Dan Lin and Thinking Hat's Craig Turk are also on board to executive produce for CBS Television Studios. (Deadline.com)
ON THE VERGE (Netflix) - Sarah Jones, Giovanni Ribisi and Alexia Landeau are all bound for Julie Delpy and Elisabeth Shue's upcoming dramedy series. No details however were given about their roles. (Variety.com)
