AMERICAN HOUSEWIFE (ABC) - Co-star Carly Hughes has bowed out of the series "alleging toxic environment and discrimination as reasons for her exit." The report indicates said development "triggered an extensive HR investigation by ABC Signature, which also looked into other claims from production team members. Following the probe, American Housewife creator Sarah Dunn is no longer an active producer on the show, Mark J. Greenberg stepped down as line producer, and showrunners Rick Wiener and Kenny Schwartz underwent sensitivity training. (Deadline.com)
DEMI-GOD (FOX, New!) - Katie Greenway has set up a hybrid animated/single-camera project at the network about "a powerless fast food employee who escapes into a fantasy world she's created in her favorite video game - only to have it turn against her when the virtual townspeople are granted sentience in the game's latest upgrade." FOX Entertainment is producing. (Deadline.com)
MAX (HBO Max, New!) - Camilla Blackett has sold a dark comedy to the streaming service about "a black millennial woman who is trying to juggle her intense professional life and intricate sex life, with, some light sociopathic tendencies." Radicle Act's Don Cheadle and Mika Pryce will also executive produce alongside Industrial Media. (Deadline.com)
SHRINK NEXT DOOR, THE (Apple TV+) - Kathryn Hahn has signed onto the Will Ferrell/Paul Rudd-led limited series as Phyllis, "Marty's (Ferrell) younger sister." (Deadline.com)
WITCHER, THE (Netflix) - Filming on the series at Arborfield Studios, west of London, has been halted following four positive COVID-19 cases. The news marks "the second time filming has had to pause on the second season of the drama after actor Kristofer Hivju revealed he had tested positive back in March." (Deadline.com, 11/7)
