AMERICAN HORROR STORIES (Hulu) - Ryan Murphy has detailed the spin-off anthology series as "16 one hour stand alone episodes delving into horror myths, legends and lore... many of these episodes will feature AHS stars you know and love." (@mrrpmurphy)
BOSSY/CALL YOUR MOTHER/MYTHIC QUEST: RAVEN'S BANQUET/WHY WOMEN KILL (Various) - The aforementioned projects, which film at the CBS Studio Center in Studio City, have shut down after various production team members tested positive for COVID-19. Of the group, "Mythic Quest" is scheduled to resume this Friday; while "Why Women Kill" and "Call Your Mother" may "stay dark through the end of this week before the situation is evaluated on a case-by-case basis." As for the Lucy Liu-led pilot "Bossy," filming will "likely be pushed." (Deadline.com)
CHICAGO FIRE (NBC) - The veteran drama is shutting down for two weeks due to multiple positive COVID-19 tests from the production team. Said decision is being done "out of an abundance of caution" due to the individuals' close proximity to other members of the cast and crew. (Deadline.com)
DADDY (Amazon, New!) - Jonathan Parks-Ramage's upcoming novel is being developed for TV by Amazon Studios. Writer/director Stephen Dunn is spearheading the project, which "follows an ambitious young man who is lured by an older, successful playwright into a dizzying world of wealth and an idyllic Hamptons home where things take a nightmarish turn." Patrick Moran's PKM Productions is also producing. (Deadline.com)
DOPESICK (Hulu) - Cleopatra Coleman will recur on the limited series as Grace Pell, "brash and funny, she's an out lesbian who isn't afraid to be herself amongst the world of the coal miners." (Deadline.com)
EQUALIZER, THE (CBS) - Adam Goldberg has join the cast of the Queen Latifah-led reboot series as Harry Keshegian: "He's not your stereotypical tech dude. Gruffly endearing, lovably annoying, eccentric and a collector of facts and artifacts, he's paranoid - but for a reason. Unlike conspiracy theorists, because of his experience as a white-hat hacker, he actually knows what the real conspiracies are. He's as loyal as they come and like a brother to McCall." (Deadline.com)
NETFLIX AFTERPARTY, THE (Netflix, New!) - David Spade, Fortune Feimster and London Hughes are set to host a weekly comedy panel series for the streaming service due in 2021. Set to release on Sundays, the 18-episode series from Free 90 Media will feature said trio alongside a guest comedian, "as creators and cast members from shows join the show to discuss shows and films that have earned buzz on the streaming site." Spade, Brad Wollack, Tom Brunelle, Marc Gurvitz and Alex Murray are the executive producers. Sarah Tiana co-executive produces. (Variety.com)
NICK CANNON PRESENTS WILD 'N OUT (MTV) - Comments from Chris McCarthy, president of ViacomCBS' Entertainment and Youth Group, suggest the series - which was pulled in July after anti-Semitic remarks by Cannon - may return return to the company. "We continue to follow Nick's journey and I'm impressed by how he's owned his mistakes," McCarthy told the publication. "He's been an extended part of our family for almost 20 years and a personal friend of mine for almost half that. He's leading by example, apologized and trying to learn to understand and help others do the same. That's the kind of partner we want to work with." (Variety.com)
REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA, THE (Bravo) - The series has halted production for two weeks "after a member of the production team tested positive for COVID-19." (Deadline.com)
TRIAGE (ABC) - Kathleen Robertson has scored a lead role on the medical drama pilot as Virginia Sawyer, "the Chief of Surgery at New York Trinity. She is fiery, strong-willed, and laser-focused on fast-tracking her daughter's career, so she has her daughter study under Dr. Finley Briar (Parisa Fitz-Henley)." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER PROJECT (Netflix, New!) - Skydance Television's proposed drama starring and executive produced by Arnold Schwarzenegger is on track to land at the streaming service with a script-to-series commitment. Monica Barbaro is also attached to the project, "a global spy adventure with a father (Schwarzenegger) and daughter (Barbaro) at the center of the story." Writer Nick Santora and Skydance's David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Bill Bost will also executive produce. (Deadline.com)
