CODE, THE (CBS) - Creator Craig Sweeny has signed a new three-year overall deal with CBS Studios, extending his run at the company. (Deadline.com)
FANTASY ISLAND (FOX) - Kiara Barnes and John Gabriel Rodriquez are the first to be cast in the reboot series. Barnes will play Ruby Okoro: "Described as warm and wise, Ruby is a young woman with an old soul. She arrives on Fantasy Island with a terminal illness, but Roarke and the island give her a new lease on life." And Rodriquez is Javier: "Said to be rugged, handsome and charismatic, Javier is Fantasy Island's head of transport - a pilot, mechanic and jack of all trades. While the island provides Javier refuge, as with everything else it offers, it may come at the price of a reckoning." (Variety.com)
FIRST KILL (Netflix) - Jet Wilkinson has signed on to direct the first two episodes of the upcoming YA vampire series. (Deadline.com)

LA BREA (NBC) - Ione Skye will recur on the upcoming drama as Jessica Harris, "a high-powered attorney. Gavin's (Eoin Macken) older sister, Jessica is like a second mom to Izzy (Zyra Gorecki) and is fiercely protective of her following the sinkhole disaster." (Deadline.com)
LINCOLN LAWYER, THE (Netflix) - LisaGay Hamilton will recur on the Manuel Garcia-Rulfo-led drama as Mary Holder, "presiding judge of the Los Angeles County Superior Court - the most powerful trial judge in the city and a no-nonsense jurist who doesn't suffer fools. Mickey Haller finds himself under her strict supervision after he takes over the city's biggest murder trial." (Deadline.com)
MASTER OF NONE (Netflix) - The Aziz Ansari-led comedy will return for a third season in May, four years after its second season launched. It's understood Lena Waithe's character, Denise, will be the focus of the new episodes with Naomi Ackie cast in an unspecified role. (Variety.com)
SINNER, THE (USA) - Michael Mosley has joined the cast of the anthology's fourth season as Colin Muldoon, "a rugged lobsterman and the devoted son of Meg Muldoon. Colin helped raise his niece, Percy (Alice Kremelberg), and will do anything to protect his family." (Deadline.com)
YOUNG ROCK (NBC) - Luke Hemsworth will drop by the show's April 27 episode as Dennis Erickson, "University of Miami's national championship-winning head football coach, who helps young Dwayne Johnson (Hemsworth's fellow Australian Uli Latukefu) through his college career and offers guidance as Dwayne dreams of an NFL future."
