AMERICAN IDOL (ABC) - Trish Kinane is stepping down as showrunner after the current season, her fifth year at the helm (one at FOX, four at ABC). Megan Michaels Wolflick will take over said duties for its fifth season on the Alphabet. (Deadline.com)
ANIMAL KINGDOM (TNT) - Moran Atias will recur on the show's final season as Louise Thompson, "a San Diego County detective who works cold cases. Her relentless pursuit of killers is driven by a dark, complicated and twisted history that comes from her trying to outrun her own trauma. She uses every method of manipulation, including lying and ignoring police procedure, to find justice for long-dead victims. And now she has the Codys in her crosshairs." (Variety.com)
BRUCE'S BEACH (Amazon, New!) - Alison Rose Jefferson's book, "Living the California Dream: African American Leisure Sites During the Jim Crow Era," is being developed for TV by Amazon Studios, Plan B Entertainment and JuVee Productions. The series "plans to explore the dynamic life of the Bruce's Beach community in the spirit of Black livelihood and leisure, as envisioned by the Bruce family in its creation." Brad Pitt, Viola Davis, Julius Tennon, Gabby Shepard and Andrew Wang are among the executive producers with Jefferson serving as a consulting producer. No writer is currently attached. (Deadline.com)
BRUH (BET+) - Shawn Vaughn, Quei Tann, Liz Lafontant and Ebony N. Mayo will recur on the show's second season, which drops May 27. Vaughn will play Greg, "Tom's strikingly handsome friend and fellow doctor"; with Tann as Darla Grills, "Tom's attractive neighbor"; Lafontant as Natalie, "a yoga instructor and also Bill's ex"; and Mayo as Littia, "a mixologist at a bar the "bruhs" frequent." COLONY 2 (Peacock, New!) - Seth Meyers and Josh Meyers are set to team for a potential animted series at the streamer set on mankind's first space colony. "When a team of the greatest minds in science arrive on a distant planet to start mankind's first space colony, they discover that because of advances intechnology back on earth, they've actually gotten there second. This forces them to confront the question, when you've been number one your whole life, what happens when you discover you're actually just number two?" Sethmaker Shoemeyers Productions, Bento Box Entertainment and Universal Television are co-producing. Seth Meyers, Mike Shoemaker, Josh Meyers, Jason Carden, Scott Greenberg and Joel Kuwahara are the executive producers. (Deadline.com)

RAISED BY WOLVES (HBO Max) - The show's second season has cast Peter Christoffersen as Cleaver, "a devoted atheist soldier, veteran of the war on Earth, whose only friend is the super computer he has been sworn to protect"; Selina Jones as Grandmother, "a god-like android, built thousands of years ago by members of the lost civilization that existed on Kepler 22b"; Morgan Santo as Vrille, "a fully humanoid android custom built to look and behave just as the real Vrille Pell did the year she committed suicide"; James Harkness as Tamerlane, "an atheist army grunt soldier with a defiant personality"; Kim Engelbrecht as Decima, "a prominent scientist/weapons developer on Earth who did a lot of immoral things in order to achieve success/domination in her field"; and Jennifer Saayeng as Nerva, "a tough atheist woman who runs an underground network of goods and services."
