DANGEROUS MOMS (NBC) - Telma Hopkins, Linda Park and Vanessa Marano are set to star opposite Shanola Hampton and Dascha Polanco in the drama pilot. Hopkins will play Fatima: "The highly spiritual Fatima lives in and works as a manager at one of Pia's (Polanco) buildings, where she takes care of her own grandson. She is also a full-time embalmer at a popular funeral home." Park is Chloe Chen, "Monique's (Hampton) brash, judgmental BFF from grade school who is now her partner in crime at the PTA. She works as an administrative assistant at the nearby police station, is married to a detective, and has two kids." And Marano will play Rebecca "Becki" Rossi, "a bubbly, pregnant newlywed, with no filter. She knows Fatima, Chloe, and Monique from the PTA, but after a series of crazy events, they become unsuspecting friends." (Deadline.com)
FLASH, THE (The CW) - Original cast members Jesse L. Martin, Candice Patton and Danielle Panabaker have closed new deals with producer Warner Bros. Television to return for its upcoming eighth season. Grant Gustin is already locked in through next season while Tom Cavanagh and Carlos Valdes previously announced their departures. (Deadline.com)
LAST OF US, THE (HBO) - Nico Parker has been cast as Joel's (Pedro Pascal) daughter Sarah in the video game adaptation. (Deadline.com)
LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN, A (Amazon) - Nick Offerman has signed onto the feature-turned-TV series as Casey "Dove" Porter, the coach of the team at the center of the show: "Dove is described as a former Cubs pitcher who is brought in to coach the Rockford Peaches. The character is most famous because his forkball killed a dove in mid-air in the middle of a game. Inspiring and charismatic, Dove was thought to be the next big Major League Baseball star, but blew his arm out after three years. Now he's looking to make his comeback by making the Peaches into champions." (THR.com)
OUR KIND OF PEOPLE (FOX) - L. Scott Caldwell has boarded the upcoming drama in the recurring role of Olivia Sturgess Dupont, "mother of [Morris] Chestnut's Raymond. Dripping in tradition, this elegant society matron adores her son, but is hard on her daughter-in-law, Leah. She hands Leah the reins of The Graceties, the elite social club at The Bluffs that newcomer Angela hopes to join. Manipulative and domineering, Olivia has pegged Angela as a "disruptor" in their tightknit community, and she orders Leah to drum her out - using whatever means necessary." (Deadline.com)
STAIRCASE, THE (HBO Max) - Michael Stuhlbarg has boarded the ever-expanding cast of the limited series as David Rudolf, "Michael Peterson's (Colin Firth) criminal defense attorney." (Deadline.com)
SUPERMAN & LOIS (The CW) - Sofia Hasmik's Chrissy Beppo will return as a regular for the series' second season. (Deadline.com)
SYD (Amazon, New!) - Janine Nabers and Etan Marciano are developing a new drama at the streamer "about a powerful Black tech CEO who wakes up one morning to discover that a mysterious entity has hacked its way into his life. In order to regain control, he must follow a series of sinister clues." Annapurna Television and Amazon Studios are co-producing. Nabers, who is also behind the Donald Glover-produced "Hive" at the network, recently signed an overall deal with the latter. (Deadline.com)
WE OWN THIS CITY (HBO) - Wunmi Mosaku is the latest addition to David Simon and George Pelecanos's limited series as Steele, "an attorney assigned to the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice, which was investigating policing practices in Baltimore prior to the Gun Trace Task Force criminal investigation. Focused on creating a voluntary, monitored federal consent decree aimed at reform, Steele's work centers on the systemic reasons police corruption and bad behavior are excused by Baltimore City prosecutors, judges and the police department itself."
