YOUTUBE ORIGINALS "KID CORRESPONDENT" SPOTLIGHTS SUSTAINABILITY WITH THREE ALL-NEW EPISODES AVAILABLE NOW STREAMING ON THE YOUTUBE ORIGINALS FOR KIDS & FAMILY CHANNEL
SPECIAL GUESTS INCLUDE SOPHIA BUSH, RAINN WILSON AND
MARCUS SAMUELSSON
WHAT:
A new three-episode block of YouTube Originals "Kid Correspondent" premieres exploring sustainability and how kids around the world can help take care of our planet. Topics include reducing trash (and taking the no-trash challenge), eating sustainably and inspiring kids to act to limit the effects of climate change. The show's correspondents, Riah and Titus, will be joined by guest "celebrity grown-ups" Sophia Bush, Rainn WIlson and chef Marcus Samuelsson, along with real-world kids making a difference through sustainability. Messages were developed in partnership with World's Largest Lesson, and focus on offering young viewers practical tips for protecting the environment. All three episodes are free-to-stream today on the YouTube Originals for Kids & Family and the SoulPancake channels. "Kid Correspondent" will also be available through the YouTube Kids app.
Each of the new episodes helps kids answer a big question they might have about sustainability:
· The No-Trash Challenge: Trash is piling up and destroying the environment! In this episode, Riah and Titus look at what we can do to stop it, while Daring Reporter Jack dares Maya, Ava and Viviona to take the No-Trash Challenge. Will they succeed? Special guest grown-up Sophia Bush stops by to talk about how reusable items are one of the ways out of this mess and how there's no trash in nature. So pick up that trash!
· Which Snack Is Best For The Planet?: Did you know that the snacks we eat can affect the entire climate? That's why Riah and Titus are checking out how making better food choices can help save everyone. Out in the field, Jack and Rosie compete to make the best smoothie for the planet in the Great Earth Shake-Off. Plus special guest grown-up Chef Marcus Samuelsson stops by to encourage us all to become food detectives and to research which foods are better for the environment.
· What's Climate Change and What Can Kids Do About It?: In this episode, Riah and Titus investigate what real kids are doing to help the planet. Special guest grown-up Rainn Wilson drops by to help explain the science of climate change, while Viviona sets out to break the neighborhood record for most trees planted (while wearing a silly hat!). Find out how all two billion kids in the world can work together to help the Earth heal.
