ABBOTT ELEMENTARY (ABC) - Director Randall Einhorn has signed a multi-year first-look deal with producer Warner Bros. Television. He'll also direct five more episodes of the midseason series and serve as an executive producer. (Variety.com)
AHSOKA (Disney+) - Hayden Christensen will reprise his role of Anakin Skywalker, aka Darth Vader, in the latest "Star Wars" series. The news follows word the actor will also return for the "Obi-Wan Kenobi" series. (THR.com)
LOPEZ VS. LOPEZ (NBC) - The multi-camera comedy starring George Lopez and his daughter Mayan has been ordered to pilot by the network. Debby Wolfe penned the project - "a working-class family comedy about dysfunction, reconnection and all the pain and joy in between" - and will executive produce alongside Bruce Helford, George Lopez, Michael Rotenberg and Katie Newman for Universal Television, Mohawk Productions, Travieso Productions, Mi Vida Loba and 3 Arts Entertainment. Mayan Lopez is a producer. (Deadline.com)
ROOKIE, THE (ABC) - Executive producer Alexi Hawley has banned "live" weapons on the show's set, following a fatal shooting on the movie "Rust." "As of today, it is now policy on The Rookie that all gunfire on set will be with Air Soft guns with CG muzzle flashes added in post," Hawley wrote in the memo. "There will be no more 'live' weapons on the show. The safety of our cast and crew is too important. Any risk is too much risk." (THR.com)
