(Albuquerque, NM) Wednesday, January 19, 2022 - REELZ today announced its February 2022 lineup with new original stories every weekend of the month about towering rockers Jon Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper and KISS stars Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, the hits that made Whitesnake, the band breakups of Iron Maiden and Judas Priest and looks at beloved shows I Love Lucy and Gilligan's Island. February 2022 premieres are anchored by the previously announced original documentary America's Deadliest Rock Concert: The Guest List.

"Our February premieres celebrate game changing small screen gems and big stage rockers showing what drove millions of people to watch the Ricardo family in I Love Lucy and the shipwrecked misfits on Gilligan's Island as well as the endless fascination for rock music and superstar frontmen spotlighted in our new music themed originals," said Steve Cheskin, SVP of Programming at REELZ. "At the heart of our February lineup are the powerful real stories from the Station nightclub fire as told by those who survived the tragedy, the family members who overcame devasting loss and the community that used the power of music to heal."

While most frontmen are by nature notoriously wild, unpredictable and full of excess Jon Bon Jovi was instead addicted to the business of music. February 2022 premieres begin with Bon Jovi: Frontman on Saturday, February 5 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT with a look at how the Bon Jovi founder and lead singer turned one of the most anarchic and decadent lifestyles as a rock star into a corporate leadership role. An uncompromising vision is also at the heart of heavy metal band Iron Maiden with their screeching vocals over a freight train of guitar and spectacular live shows. On Sunday, February 6 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT Iron Maiden: Breaking the Band dives into the battles between founder Steve Harris whose vision for the band clashed with lead vocalist Bruce Dickinson after their meteoric rise was challenged by rising competition in a changing musical world. Immediately following on Sunday, February 6 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT it's Judas Priest: Breaking the Band about the prolific heavy metal band with their louder, faster, harder style defining a generation of music. But with massive success came life threatening addictions, an accusation of murder and a secret that could destroy the band.

A great band is always defined by its frontman who can be charismatic, egotistical and rarely able or willing to share the limelight. But KISS co-founders Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley are different. A band of two frontmen with equal billing somehow sharing the stage they became one of the greatest performance bands in rock history. On Saturday, February 12 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT in a special two-hour episode KISS: Frontmen reveals how Simmons and Stanley made it work and the drastic risks they took to keep the band alive. With more than 30 million album sales worldwide and a series of unforgettable music videos Whitesnake is an enduring and hugely successful British rock band with sing along anthems that became timeless. Whitesnake: Story of Their Songs on Saturday, February 19 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT presents the stories behind the six songs that defined their career with original members guitarist Bernie Marsden and bass player Neil Murray sharing stories of the group's early days and the drive they saw in lead singer David Coverdale who engaged in a relentless pursuit of perfection to make the band a success.

On Sunday, February 20 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT it's the previously announced original documentary America's Deadliest Rock Concert: The Guest List presenting the deeply personal stories of lives forever altered by the tragic Station nightclub fire that left 100 people dead, more than 200 injured, and devastated the tight-knit community of West Warwick Rhode Island. It is also a story of the triumph of the human spirit, as seen in a community's resilience and the recovery and rebirth of Joe Kinan, who was the last survivor pulled from the fire and the most severely burned.

On Saturday, February 26 it's the premiere of The Unknown Story new original specials with back-to-back stories about the legendary sitcoms I Love Lucy and Gilligan's Island revealing the brilliant talent and timeless comedy that made both shows popular for generations of fans. First at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT it's I Love Lucy: The Unknown Story about the six seasons of unforgettable moments that made this TV show a massive hit with stars Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz reinventing television along the way to create a show that is still adored and imitated decades later. Then at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT it's Gilligan's Island: The Unknown Story with the incredible story of how exactly a show about seven shipwrecked castaways that no network wanted to air became one of the most recognizable TV shows in the world. And when Gilligan's Island came to an abrupt end find out why that was both a blessing and curse to its stars and how passionate fandom played a role in changing the fates of the castaways.

Wrapping February premieres is the godfather of shock rock Alice Cooper about the band and the man behind this pioneering force in music and how the alter ego of its lead singer almost became the thing that killed it all. Despite being the son of a pastor, Vince Furnier created the hell raising alter ego Alice Cooper as a wicked edge in the metal music scene of the early 70s with his ominous saying "there were too many rock heroes and not enough rock villains". On Sunday, February 27 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT Alice Cooper: Frontman dives into his life story from near death experiences and his deep religious faith to memorable hits and unforgettable stage antics.

Below are detailed descriptions for February 2022 programming listed by premiere date and time:

Jon Bon Jovi: Frontman premieres Saturday, February 5 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. For almost 40 years Jon Bon Jovi has fronted one of the world's biggest rock bands. With power ballads including "Livin' On A Prayer" and "It's My Life" Bon Jovi album sales topped 130 million. Jon Bon Jovi is equally successful as a solo artist and Hollywood actor. Despite mountains of money, global fame and certified rock legend status that often leads to the clichés of drug addictions and bad headlines Jon Bon Jovi took a different route as a laser focused and a highly successful businessman. Frontmen explores the story of the star who avoided the trappings of fame and what led to his disciplined approach to being one of the most successful frontmen of all time. It was also this determined mindset and unwavering dedication to a vision that nearly destroyed what he loved most. Sharing their stories of knowing and working with Jon Bon Jovi are Mercury Records executive Derek Shulman, childhood friend and bandmate Wil Hercek and friend Lonn Friend among others. Frontmen is produced by Honey Bee.

Iron Maiden: Breaking the Band premieres Sunday, February 6 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. Formed in the late 70s and racking up more than 100 million album sales British band Iron Maiden have been the undisputed kings of heavy metal for four decades. Loud, proud and famed for their spectacular album covers and take no prisoners approach to performing their stellar rise from the pubs and clubs of London England to the stadiums of the world was due to the uncompromising musical vision of founder and bass player Steve Harris. But that same leadership ignited long-festering tensions especially when the band signed up flamboyant and massively talented lead vocalist Bruce Dickinson. Not only did he constantly push Harris aside to take center stage he had plenty of his own musical ideas as well. As the band grew exhausted touring the world performing its massive shows relentlessly these tensions loomed over the band and ultimately shook Iron Maiden to its very foundations in the early 90s. Sharing their experiences with the band are former guitarist Dennis Stratton and Dave "Lights" Beazley who was the lighting and production designer for their renowned live shows. Breaking the Band is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.

Judas Priest: Breaking the Band premieres Sunday, February 6 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT. Judas Priest changed the course of rock music and brought a walloping new sound that led to the band selling more than 50 million records worldwide. With a career spanning 50 years they have come to epitomize heavy metal both through their famed 'two guitar attack' of dueling lead guitarists and their iconic leather and studs look. But with two lead guitarists vying for control of the group, drug addiction issues, an accusation of murder and a secret kept for decades with the potential to uproot the band after 20 years the group reached its breaking point. In a candid interview Judas Priest co-founder and former guitarist K.K. Downing discusses the battles the band faced including those of lead singer Rob Halford who along with dangerous drug addictions also struggled with mental health. Former members drummer Les Binks and lead singer Tim "Ripper" Owens share their experiences with the band along with original Judas Priest manager Dave Corke. At one point nothing was heard from Judas Priest for five years but the band made a controversial comeback and are still going strong today. But the longevity came at a price as only one of the original members has remained with the band. Breaking the Band is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.

Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley: KISS Frontmen premieres Saturday, February 12 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. A band is almost always defined by its frontman and normally there is only one of them because of the ego, talent and chemistry that define the role. But KISS has always been different. They have two frontmen in Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley who somehow shared the stage and gave fans a spectacle like no other with fire bombs, smoking guitars and spitting blood all part of their famed act. Both their backgrounds were scarred by childhood trauma and together they created alter egos named the Starchild and the Demon, masked characters that would take on the world. But hiding behind their personas was a recipe for disaster and their soaring ride to the top would face a mighty challenge when sales plummeted leaving Simmons and Stanley to take drastic measures to keep the music playing. This is the story of how two of the most legendary frontmen managed to share a vision and a stage forming a band that became one of the best-selling rock acts of all time with insight from those close to them including former KISS manager Larry Mazer and Stanley's childhood friend Binky Philips. Frontmen is produced by Honey Bee.

Whitesnake: Story of Their Songs premieres Saturday, February 19 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. Spawned from the mind of former Deep Purple frontman David Coverdale the British rock band Whitesnake first appeared on the English music scene in 1978 and would soon achieve global stardom. Story of Their Songs celebrates six of their hits from the hard-hitting rock epics "Love Ain't No Stranger" and "Still of the Night" to heartfelt groovy ballads "Is This Love?" and "The Deeper the Love" to the heavy blues of "Fool for Your Loving". It's a band with an everchanging lineup as they battled against the odds only to emerge with the chart-topping giant "Here I Go Again". Original members guitarist Bernie Marsden and bass player Neil Murray recall the group's early days and the drive that they saw in lead singer Coverdale who engaged in a relentless pursuit of perfection. Blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa offers his unique appraisal of what makes the Whitesnake sound so memorable while recording engineer Mike Fraser explains the sonic qualities of Whitesnake's multi-platinum breakthrough U.S. album "1987". Emmy Award(R) winning music video director Marty Callner shares his experience directing Whitesnake videos and how model and actress Tawny Kitaen became a vital influence on their huge success. Whitesnake six string legends Adrian Vandenberg and Steve Vai give the low down on their part in helping the band become one of the biggest rock acts on the planet. Story of Their Songs is produced by ViacomCBS International Studios UK.

America's Deadliest Rock Concert: The Guest List premieres Sunday, February 20 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. The documentary presents the deeply personal stories of lives forever altered by the tragic Station nightclub fire that left 100 people dead, more than 200 injured, and devastated the tight-knit community of West Warwick, Rhode Island. It is also a story of the triumph of the human spirit, as seen in a community's resilience and the recovery and rebirth of Joe Kinan, who was the last survivor pulled from the fire and the most severely burned. On the night of February 20, 2003, more than 400 music fans packed into the small Station nightclub. Just seconds after 80s sensation Great White took the stage, pyrotechnics ignited a fire that raced up the walls and across the ceiling of the packed venue. In less than 90 seconds, most of those who hadn't already made their escape would be trapped inside. They would be burned alive, identified days later only by dental records or tattoos. The Station fire was a perfect storm of human error that became one of the worst nightclub tragedies in U.S. history. It remains America's deadliest rock concert. Viewers see rare and jarring footage from the first news crews on the scene tasked with reporting the horrific event as victims' families eagerly awaited news. First responders share their experiences of battling the blaze, treating victims and managing the chaos as it unfolded. America's Deadliest Rock Concert: The Guest List explores the Station nightclub fire through gripping survivor accounts and family members and friends of victims who have memorialized their loss through pursuits ranging from an exhibit of commemorative body art to re-immersion in the rock culture that initially brought them and their loved ones to the Station nightclub. Their stories embody courage and deliver inspiration while others depict a much darker aftermath. Great White's own Jack Russell emerged from the experience a changed man carrying with him the burden of accusation for what transpired that night and in a series of highly revealing interviews he shares his post-fire search for peace after a near two-decade journey of crippling heartbreak and depression as a result of surviving the tragedy. In the afternoon before the concert Russell met many Great White fans in the West Warwick area and graciously added their names to the guest list for the show that night. For many of those fans what appeared to be their lucky day turned out to be their last. Weeks after the fire a charred handwritten notebook page was recovered from the Station nightclub ashes that contained rows of names and above them were the words 'Guest List'. America's Deadliest Rock Concert: The Guest List is produced by Left of Creative.

I Love Lucy: The Unknown Story premieres Saturday, February 26 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. I Love Lucy is one of the best sitcoms in history that broke ground on screen and behind the scenes with the perfect recipe of rare talent, timeless comedy, new technology and a live audience. Stars Lucille Ball and co-star husband Desi Arnaz changed the rules of television and created an empire in the process. The Unknown Story follows Ball as she journeyed from B-movie roles to beloved TV star who along with Arnaz revolutionized what it meant to be a celebrity by using the success of I Love Lucy to form their own studio Desilu Productions which was unheard of at the time. But it wasn't all glamorous. With the skyrocketing success of the show, their flourishing studios and a growing family, the pressure on their marriage also increased and it would put Lucy and Desi on vastly different paths. TV and entertainment experts Jamie Rubenstein, host of PEOPLE Every Day podcast, Tom Gilbert, co-author of "Desilu: The Story of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz" and The Hollywood Reporter Chief TV Critic, Daniel Fienberg help tell the story of I Love Lucy including its many firsts from reaching 10 million homes, the rerun and an onscreen pregnancy. The Unknown Story is produced by Asylum Entertainment.

Gilligan's Island: The Unknown Story premieres Saturday, February 26 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT. While only airing for three seasons Gilligan's Island became one of the most unlikely and enduring television shows ever made. Even now in the decades following the series the fandom has taken on a life of its own welcoming fans to ask themselves the irresistible question, "What would I do if I was stuck on the island?" The Unknown Story goes beyond the island and back to the beginning from the series' complicated casting and disastrous first pilot episode that nearly sunk the show before it aired to that catchy and memorable theme song, backstage drama among the cast and the abrupt cancellation that blindsided fans. The special also reveals the unwavering persistence from Gilligan's Island creator Sherwood Schwartz to continue and complete the story for fans through a series of TV movies. Sharing their unique experiences watching the show and its TV movies come together from the inside are two of Schwartz's children Lloyd Schwartz and Hope Juber. Also sharing their insight is television historian Jim Colucci and author Joey Green who wrote The Unofficial Gilligan's Island Handbook. The Unknown Story is produced by Asylum Entertainment.

Alice Cooper: Frontman premieres Sunday, February 27 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. Famous for hits including "I'm Eighteen", "Poison" and the game changing anthem "School's Out" frontman Alice Cooper shocked and scandalized his way to stardom. He started life as Vince Furnier, an all-American son of a pastor, but rose to fame in the early 70s as his hell raising onstage alter ego Alice Cooper adopting and crafting a role as a rock music villain. His bloody stage antics and outrageous persona made him beloved by kids and hated by parents. But behind the scenes the demonic character of Alice Cooper would ultimately consume him as Vince Furnier began to confuse the two characters blurring the lines in dangerous fashion hitting rock bottom when he used so many drugs that his eyes bled and his wife threatened to divorce him. Even after he emerged from the experience sober it wasn't long before the demons of the Alice Cooper character return and threaten to end it all. This is the extraordinary story of the man who would become the godfather of shock rock with personal stories from college friend Linda Thompson Smith, fellow rockers Doro Pesch and Dee Snider along with Alice Cooper guitarist Ryan Roxie. Frontmen is produced by Honey Bee.
